Initial Study of Reduced Graphene Oxide Foams Modified by Mn and Bi as Capacitive Electrode Materials

open access: yesNanoenergy Advances
In a view of application of porous materials in wearable electronics and self-powered systems, reduced graphene oxide (rGO) foams modified by Mn or/and Bi were produced in this study to be used as electrodes for supercapacitors.

EndoTHeF: Endoluminal Treatment of Hemorrhoids with Foam [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Colorectal Research, 2018
Background: Hemorrhoids are normal anatomical structures, present in individuals from birthandrecognisable even in intrauterinelife. When we talk about haemorrhoids in actual fact we refer to the symptoms caused by haemorrhoids.

Enabling Digital Continuity in Virtual Manufacturing for Eco‐Efficiency Assessment of Lightweight Structures by Means of a Domain‐Specific Structural Mechanics Language: Requirements, Idea and Proof of Concept

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a solver‐agnostic domain‐specific language (DSL) for computational structural mechanics that strengthens interoperability in virtual product development. Using a hierarchical data model, the DSL enables seamless exchange between diverse simulation tools and numerical methods.

Interactions between Molten High‐Silicon Electrical Steels and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

Foam placement for soil remediation: scaling foam flow models in heterogeneous porous media for a better improvement of sweep efficiency

open access: yesScience and Technology for Energy Transition, 2023
If injected with a large gas fraction, foam reduces mobility more in high-permeability layers and diverts flow to low-permeability layers. Here is a qualitative statement that has been claimed many times in many works related to environmental remediation

Hybrid Auxetic Architectures: Integrating Curvature‐Driven Design for Enhanced Mechanical Tunability and Structural Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Curvature‐tuned auxetic lattices are designed, fabricated, and mechanically characterized to reveal how geometric curvature governs stretchability, stress redistribution, and Poisson's ratio evolution. Photoelastic experiments visualize stress pathways, while hyperelastic simulations quantify deformation mechanics.

Nickel foam and stainless steel mesh as electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction, oxygen evolution reaction and overall water splitting in alkaline media

open access: yesRSC Advances, 2019
In this work, several commonly used conductive substrates as electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) under alkaline conditions were studied, including nickel foam (Ni foam), copper foam (Cu foam), nickel

Operator Spin Foam Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The goal of this paper is to introduce a systematic approach to spin foams. We define operator spin foams, that is foams labelled by group representations and operators, as the main tool.
