Rhododendron diversity patterns provide new insights for conserving China's montane flora
Integrating distribution, phylogenetic, and functional trait data for 603 Rhododendron species in China identified significant conservation hotspots of multidimensional diversity, particularly in the Hengduan Mountains. Climate seasonality and topographic heterogeneity jointly influenced these patterns; however, notable conservation gaps remained ...

Twin Defaults and Bank Capital Requirements
ABSTRACT We examine optimal capital requirements in a quantitative general equilibrium model with banks exposed to nondiversifiable borrower default risk. Contrary to standard models of bank default risk, our framework captures the limited upside, but significant downside risk of loan portfolio returns.

ABSTRACT We study optimal simple rating systems that partition sellers into a finite number of tiers. We show that optimal ratings must be threshold partitions, and that for linear supply and Cournot competition with constant marginal cost, optimal thresholds solve a k‐means clustering problem requiring only the quality distribution.

A Unified Approach to Estimating Production Functions: Proxy Variables and Dynamic Panel Data
ABSTRACT We propose a new approach to production function estimation that integrates the strengths of the proxy‐variable (PV) and dynamic panel data (DPD) methods. Our framework augments the set of instruments for the level equation in Blundell and Bond [8] with a Berkson‐type instrument motivated by economic theory, following Olley and Pakes [28 ...
