Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Predictors of infectious foci on FDG PET/CT in Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia
We looked for predicting factors for the detection of infectious foci on 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography in combination with computed tomography (FDG PET/CT) among patients with Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia (SAB) who participated ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Extra-Palmoplantar Lesions of Palmoplantar Pustulosis: Underrecognized but Important Manifestation
Background: Patients with palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP) rarely develop scaly erythematous and/or pustular lesions on sites other than the palms and soles, such as the dorsa of the feet, lower legs, knees, elbows, buttocks and trunk.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.
