Spatial distribution and focal mechanism solutions of the Wenchuan earthquake series: Results and implications [PDF]
We relocate the spatial distribution of the devastating 12 May 2008 Wenchuan earthquake and its aftershocks. The relocation database is obtained from 89 stations deployed by the China Earthquake Administration, including 54 525 seismograms from 1 376 local earthquakes over MS3.5 between 12 May 2008 and 3 August 2008.

Present-Day Tectonic Stress Evolution in Southern Yunnan Based on Focal Mechanisms
Tectonic extrusion bypassing the eastern Himalayan syntaxis results in a significant increase in regional stress instability and the associated frequent occurrence of earthquakes in southern Yunnan, China.

ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Source properties and stress fields are critical to understand fundamental mechanisms for fluid-induced earthquakes. In this study, we identify the focal mechanism solutions (FMSs) of 360 earthquakes with local magnitude ML ≥ 1.5 in the Changning shale ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

In‐situ stress fields and focal mechanism solutions in central France
Focal mechanisms of 31 Central France earthquakes (mb= 2.9‐4.4) were evaluated to determine if slip is compatible with stress field determinations conducted at four nearby sites. The coherent picture that results indicates that the regional stress fields can be inferred by linear extrapolation of in‐situ measurements performed between 400–1000 m depths.
