Probing half β_{y}^{*} optics in the Accelerator Test Facility 2

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2016
A nanometer beam size at the interaction point (IP) is required for future linear colliders to achieve the desired rate of particle collisions. KEK Accelerator Test Facility 2 (ATF2), a scaled down implementation of the linear collider beam delivery ...

High-Efficiency Spin-Related Vortex Metalenses

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
In this paper, one spin-selected vortex metalens composed of silicon nanobricks is designed and numerically investigated at the mid-infrared band, which can produce vortex beams with different topological charges and achieve different spin lights ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The Design of QUASl-OPTICS for Dual-Channel SIS Receiver [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 1997
We have designed the quasi optics of the dual channel receiver to observe the radio sources with 100GHz-band and 150GHz-band simultaneously. We introduced the general quasi optics and the relation between the Gaussian beam and thin lens approximation. We

Dynamics of a Classical Particle in a Quasi Periodic Potential

open access: yes, 2015
We study the dynamics of a one-dimensional classical particle in a space and time dependent potential with randomly chosen parameters. The focus of this work is a quasi-periodic potential, which only includes a finite number of Fourier components.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Optics design with longer L^{*} for the final focus system of Compact Linear Collider 380 GeV

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2023
The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) plans to start operation at a center-of-mass energy of 380 GeV. This paper reports on various optimizations of the CLIC 380-GeV Final Focus System (FFS).
