Synthetic CT Skull Generation for Transcranial MR Imaging-Guided Focused Ultrasound Interventions with Conditional Adversarial Networks [PDF]
Transcranial MRI-guided focused ultrasound (TcMRgFUS) is a therapeutic ultrasound method that focuses sound through the skull to a small region noninvasively under MRI guidance. It is clinically approved to thermally ablate regions of the thalamus and is being explored for other therapies, such as blood brain barrier opening and neuromodulation.

Transcranial Magnetic Resonance Imaging-Guided Focused Ultrasound Treatment at 1.5 T: A Retrospective Study on Treatment- and Patient-Related Parameters Obtained From 52 Procedures [PDF]
Objective: To present a retrospective analysis of patient- and sonication-related parameters of a group of patients treated with a transcranial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-guided focused ultrasound (tcMRgFUS) system integrated with a 1.5-T MRI unit.

We obtained potential bacterial laccase‐like multicopper oxidase (LMCO) sequences through metagenomic sequencing. All sequences exhibited significant differences from known LMCOs in databases. To select the most promising candidates, we performed structure prediction and molecular docking using alphafold2, metal3d and rosetta.

Focused Ultrasound Neuromodulation on Crayfish [PDF]
Neuromodulation is a scientific phenomenon widely used in therapeutic treatment as well as treatment of diseases associated with brain malfunction. Associated with the change of neuron firings, neuromodulation allows for alteration and control of nerve ...

The impact of vaporized nanoemulsions on ultrasound-mediated ablation [PDF]
BACKGROUND: The clinical feasibility of using high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) for ablation of solid tumors is limited by the high acoustic pressures and long treatment times required.

Bubble cloud dynamics in an ultrasound field [PDF]
The dynamics of bubble clouds induced by high-intensity focused ultrasound are investigated in a regime where the cloud size is similar to the ultrasound wavelength. High-speed images show that the cloud is asymmetrical; the bubbles nearest the source grow to a larger radius than the distal ones.

The radiosensitization potential of focused ultrasound (FUS)-induced mild hyperthermia was assessed in an allogenic subcutaneous C6 glioma tumor model in rats. Mild hyperthermia at 42 °C was induced in tumors using a single-element 350 kHz FUS transducer.

Focused cardiac ultrasound in resuscitation [PDF]
Focused cardiac ultrasound is recognized as a vital tool in critical care medicine. Few studies, however, have examined the utility of this modality in resuscitation. While integration of ultrasound can supplement resuscitation by potentially establishing the etiology of cardiac arrest, it must be done safely to avoid interruption of compressions.
