A Tunable Zig-Zag Reflective Elastic Metasurface
In this paper, inspired by origami structures, we offer a very simple tuning method to overcome the limitations of general elastic metasurfaces, where only a certain functionality at a certain frequency range can be achieved, by designing a reflective ...

Focusing on Contraction. [PDF]
Focusing [1] is a proof-theoretic device to structure proof search in the sequent calculus: it provides a normal form to cut-free proofs in which the application of invertible and non-invertible inference rules is structured in two separate and disjoint phases.

A Novel Approach on Microwave Hyperthermia
Microwave hyperthermia (MH) requires the selective focusing of microwave energy on the targeted region while minimally affecting the healthy tissue. Emerging from the simple nature of the linear antenna arrays, this work demonstrates focusing maps as an ...

Analytic descriptions of parabolic X-ray mirrors
On X-ray beamlines and telescopes, glancing-incidence mirrors with parabolic profiles are used to collimate, focus, and collect light. Here, analytic descriptions for paraboloidal, plane-parabolic, and parabolic cylindrical mirrors in several congruent ...

Focusing and Wavefront Splitting of an Extreme Ultraviolet Laser with a Tubular Optical Element
A capillary discharge extreme ultraviolet laser is focused and wavefront split at 46.9 nm by a tubular optical element. The reflectivity at 46.9 nm is both simulated and measured to be higher than 90% with a slight optical aberration.
