Refractive Lens Exchange with Foldable Toric Intraocular Lens
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 2009To assess visual and refractive outcomes, and rotational stability after refractive lens exchange (RLE) with toric intraocular lens (IOL) implantation to correct ametropia and preexisting astigmatism.Prospective, nonrandomized, observational case series (self-controlled).This prospective, nonrandomized, and self-controlled study included 32 eyes of 19 ...

Scleral Fixation of a Foldable Intraocular Lens
Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 2002Abstract. Scleral fixation has become more popular and is now performed by surgeons all over the world. At present, there are no available foldable intraocular lenses (IOLs) with holes that would enable tying a suture on to their haptic. We describe a method for using an available 3-piece acrylic foldable IOL with PMMA haptics for scleral fixation ...

Implantation of a foldable intraocular lens in dogs
Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 2000A 1-piece, tripod-shaped, acrylic intraocular lens was implanted in the posterior chamber after phacoemulsification to remove cataracts in 20 eyes of 16 dogs. Biomicroscopy and intraocular pressure measurements were performed at 1, 8, 30, and 90 days after surgery; retinoscopy was performed at day 30.

Explantation of a Foldable Silicone Intraocular Lens
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1996We used a novel technique for explanting an improperly oriented silicone intraocular lens. The elastomeric property of silicone was used to deform the optic and remove the intraocular lens in one piece. We explanted a flexible intraocular lens without compromising the integrity of the original wound, posterior lens capsule, or corneal endothelium. The ...

Bisecting a foldable acrylic intraocular lens for explantation
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 1996We describe a method of explanting an implanted foldable acrylic intraocular lens (IOL) through a small incision at the time of primary implantation without enlarging the original small incision. This method of bisecting foldable IOLs in the anterior chamber is safe and preserves the advantages of the original small incision.
