Foldable acrylic intraocular lens with distended haptics for transscleral fixation

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2009
We describe a foldable acrylic intraocular lens (IOL) with distended haptics suitable for transscleral fixation and the insertion procedure. The IOL has an acrylic optic and poly(methyl methacrylate) haptics with a microscopic indentation 1.3 mm from the tip.

[Secondary foldable intraocular lens implantation].

[Zhonghua yan ke za zhi] Chinese journal of ophthalmology, 1999
To investigate the effectiveness and technique of secondary foldable intraocular lens implantation. The silicone intraocular lens was implanted secondarily in 25 aphakic eyes with intact posterior capsule and zonules or capsule rupture at central zone through a 3.5 mm sutureless scleral tunnel incision.21 of the eyes (84%) achieved a uncorrected visual ...

Suture fixation of a foldable acrylic intraocular lens for ectopia lentis

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2002
A 5-year-old boy with severe ectopia lentis had bilateral lensectomy and suture fixation of a foldable acrylic intraocular lens (IOL) through a 3.0 mm clear corneal incision. Sodium hyaluronate (Healon GV) enhanced stability of the crystalline lens during aspiration and maintenance of the anterior chamber during passage of the needles through the ...

Reinforced scleral fixation of foldable intraocular lens by double sutures: comparison with intrascleral intraocular lens fixation

Japanese Journal of Ophthalmology, 2018
The purpose of this study is to describe a new technique for small-incision scleral fixation of intraocular lens (IOL) using double 10-0 polypropylene sutures, and to report the outcomes of IOL position compared with intrascleral IOL fixation at 12-month follow-up.A retrospective comparative study. This new technique, called double sutured scleral ...

Placement of a secondary foldable intraocular lens over a capsule remnant

Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 1998
A bilaterally aphakic patient received a silicone intraocular lens (IOL) over an intact capsular bag. The fellow eye had a large capsule rupture. Implantation of a 3-piece silicone IOL was attempted over the capsule remnant and achieved without complication. One year postoperatively, the IOL remained stable.
