Mare stromal endometrial cells differentially modulate inflammation depending on oestrus cycle status: an in vitro study

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2023
The modulation of inflammation is pivotal for uterine homeostasis. Here we evaluated the effect of the oestrus cycle on the expression of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory markers in a cellular model of induced fibrosis.

Kinetic, Physiological and Fatigue Level Differences Depending on the Menstrual Cycle Phase and Running Intensity

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Background: Depending on the phase of the menstrual cycle an athlete is in, some kinetic, physiological, and fatigue variables will show differences. The aim of this study is to analyze whether there are changes in these variables over the course of the ...

Bifurcation-based parameter tuning in a model of the GnRH pulse and surge generator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We investigate a model of the GnRH pulse and surge generator, with the definite aim of constraining the model GnRH output with respect to a physiologically relevant list of specifications. The alternating pulse and surge pattern of secretion results from

Tongue color changes within a menstrual cycle in eumenorrheic women

open access: yesJournal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine, 2016
Tongue color (舌色 shé sè) has been used to diagnose abnormal body conditions for thousands of years in traditional Chinese Medicine (中醫 zhōng yī). However, it is not clear whether tongue color alters with physiological changes within a normal menstrual ...

Hearing Performance in the Follicular-Luteal Phase of the Menstrual Cycle [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Otolaryngology, 2018
Introduction. Estrogen has a protective role on auditory function. It may have an excitatory action on auditory nerve fibers and can have a neuroprotective effect. Progesterone has a mainly inhibitory action on the central nervous system, which may balance the mainly excitatory action of estrogen. Objective.

Effects of Breed on Follicular Dynamics and Oestradiol Secretion during the Follicular Phase in Sheep

open access: yesReproduction in Domestic Animals, 2007
ContentsCurrent study evaluates effects from breed and management background on follicular dynamics and endocrine output during the follicular phase of sheep oestrous cycle. Follicular phases were synchronized with three cloprostenol doses, 10 days apart, in three groups of 10 females of different non‐prolific Spanish breeds (Manchega, Rubia del Molar ...

Analyzing physiological signals recorded with a wearable sensor across the menstrual cycle using circular statistics

open access: yesFrontiers in Network Physiology, 2023
This study aims to identify the most significant features in physiological signals representing a biphasic pattern in the menstrual cycle using circular statistics which is an appropriate analytic method for the interpretation of data with a periodic ...

Gonadotropin in follicular phase in women with luteal phase defect.

open access: yesThe Tohoku Journal of Experimental Medicine, 1979
Serum FSH and LH in women with luteal phase defect were measured. Their serum FSH and LH were lower than those in normal women and higher than those in women with amenorrhea. Administration of clomiphene citrate to the women with luteal phase defect were effective in 2/3 of the cases.

Ovarian reserve and anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) in mothers of dizygotic twins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This study aimed to explore if natural dizygotic (DZ) twinning is associated with earlier menopause and lower anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) values. We investigated if advanced biological reproductive aging, which can be responsible for the multiple ...
