Shape Memory Microneedle to Prevent Risks of Reproductive Hormone Therapy by Switching Sustained to Burst Release Under a Single Transdermal Insertion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A shape‐memory microneedle system enables reproductive hormone therapy through a single transdermal insertion. The X‐shaped device sustains follicle‐stimulating hormone release for three days, and mild heating restores the O shape to trigger burst human chorionic gonadotropin release.

Sustainable Electrochemical Synthesis of High‐Quality MXenes: Mechanistic Insights, Applications, Challenges, and Technological Prospects

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrochemical etching provides an eco‐friendly alternative to hazardous HF methods for MXene production. This approach facilitates the selective isolation of the A‐layer from MAX phases with tunable surface terminations. Controlling voltage, electrolytes, temperature, and duration enables the optimal structural integrity. Nevertheless, existing scale

Footprinting haemostatic networks

open access: yes, 2017
Blood coagulation (hemostasis) is a process that is driven by plasma proteins which form a complex network of molecular interactions. An essential part of the coagulation system is formed by a cascade of proenzymes (i.e.

Time‐Resolved Hydroxyl Radical Footprinting of RNA with X‐Rays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
RNA footprinting by hydroxyl radical cleavage provides 'snapshots' of RNA tertiary structure or protein interactions that bury the RNA backbone. Generation of hydroxyl radicals with a high-flux synchrotron X-ray beam provides analysis on a short ...

Cell Proteomic Footprint

open access: yesNature Precedings, 2008
AbstractThe authentication of mammalian cell cultures and their subpopulations are of tremendous demand in biotechnology and cell therapy. However, current techniques are either not efficient or can be very complex and expensive. Here we report a simple and straightforward approach for authentication of biological cells and their subpopulations with ...

Ultrasensitive Detection of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus Infections Using Multivalent DNA Nanostructure‐Enabled Lateral Flow Assay

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A multivalent DNA nanostructure‐enabled lateral flow assay was developed for rapid, ultrasensitive detection of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) nucleocapsid protein. Designer net‐shaped DNA nanostructures (DNA‐Net) presenting PEDV‐specific aptamers achieved ~1000‐fold enhanced binding, enabling detection of viral copies with Ct ≤ 37.42 within 10
