An Optimized Fractional-Order PID Horizontal Vibration Control Approach for a High-Speed Elevator
Due to factors such as uneven guide rails and airflow disturbance in the hoistway, high-speed elevators may experience significant vibrations during operation. This paper proposes an optimized fractional-order PID (FOPID) method to suppress vibrations of

Electrothermal Twisted and Coiled Polymer Artificial Muscles and Their Applications in Soft Robotics
Researchers develop a PE@SPN electrothermal polymer artificial muscle with a parallel‐stranded spiral structure. A temperature self‐sensing‐driven hierarchical closed‐loop fractional order PID (FOPID) control scheme is adopted. A rehabilitation manipulator was designed, and subsequently, a series of experiments are conducted to test the performance of ...

A survey of recent advances in fractional order control for time delay systems [PDF]
Several papers reviewing fractional order calculus in control applications have been published recently. These papers focus on general tuning procedures, especially for the fractional order proportional integral derivative controller.

This study presents a new control strategy for doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) wind turbine systems to overcome the limitations of traditional direct field control using proportional‐integral (DFOC‐PI) regulators, which are sensitive to coefficient changes and lead to low power quality.

Abstract This study presents a non‐iterative tuning technique for a linear fractional‐order (FO) controller, based on the integral of the time‐weighted absolute error (ITAE) criterion. Minimizing the ITAE is a traditional approach for tuning FO controllers. This technique reduces the over/undershoot and suppresses the steady‐state error. In contrast to

This study presents a novel exponential proportional‐derivative controller with filter (exp‐PDN) for stabilising the nonlinear and underactuated ball and beam system. Unlike conventional PID‐based approaches, the proposed controller removes the integral term, resulting in faster transient responses and improved robustness.

A Novel Model‐Free Defense Scheme for Power Systems Stability Under Cyber Attacks
This paper studies the load frequency control performance of Kundur's 4‐unit‐12‐bus power system under the frequency signal manipulated by false data injection attacks. In this regard, a model‐free resilient defence strategy, comprising a model‐free detection scheme and an event‐triggered mechanism, is proposed to encounter these attacks.
