Dynamic mooring-forces allocation in dynamic ship positioning
Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications, 1989The design of a dynamic positioning system for a multiply-moored vessel with active winches and thrusters is presented. The proposed positioning system is based on Kalman filter and linear optimal control. Its peculiarity is that it contains a scheme which allocates dynamically the control forces between moorings and thrusters.

Optimal rate allocation for group zero forcing
IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2004. GLOBECOM '04., 2005MIMO systems have been shown to provide significant performance gains over traditional single antennas systems that fall in two categories: diversity and multiplexing rate. A tradeoff between these gains was recently put in evidence and has been quantified with the optimal detection.

Allocating Sales Force Effort with Commissions and Quotas
Management Science, 1971Quotas, commissions and mixtures of the two are widely used to control salesmen's activities both in terms of overall motivation and as decentralized means to direct allocation of effort over various products in the firm's line. Sales commission plans as allocation devices for a commission-maximizing sales force and a profit-maximizing central ...

Time allocation of a pooled industrial sales force
Industrial Marketing Management, 1976Abstract The use of the salesman's daily call report has certain limitations regarding internal budgeting matters within a pooled industrial sales force. This article focuses on a case history of using “instantaneous observations” of a salesman's time for budgeting and control purposes.

Allocation of Grades in the Army Air Forces
American Journal of Sociology, 1946The premise is that (1) proper classification and (2) assignment of a grade appropiate to the job held are two of the primary elements in Army morale. Using data for and A. A. F. Base Unit, formulas are derived to attempt to justify the different grades actually existing for persons holding forty-two different military occupational specialities.

Hierarchical driving force allocation strategy for 4-WID electric vehicles
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part D: Journal of Automobile Engineering, 2022Focusing on the driving force distribution control method of four-wheel independent drive electric vehicles, a driving force distribution strategy with a hierarchical structure is proposed in this paper. The upper layer used a neural network to optimize the fuzzy rules and membership function so as to adapt to changes in the process parameters and ...

A Multi-Objective Force Allocation Model
1981Modern western unified force commanders are presented with the problem of conducting a forward defense in the face of overwhelming numbers of enemy forces. The probable location of main and supporting enemy attacks and the associated force composition will generally be available to the defense commanders through the use of sophisticated reconnaissance,

Adaptive Vehicle Stability Control With Optimal Tire Force Allocation
Volume 11: Transportation Systems, 2012Vehicle stability control systems have been receiving increasing attention, especially over the past decade, owing to the advances in on-board electronics that enables successful implementation of complex algorithms. Another major reason for their increasing popularity lies in their effectiveness.
