In high-energy molecular dynamics or Monte-Carlo simulations, standard force fields that are optimised for simulations at ambient temperature are inadequate. This is largely because their repulsive part has been regarded as not very significant even well

Solovay models and forcing extensions
Abstract. We study the preservation under projective ccc forcing extensions of the property of L(ℝ) being a Solovay model. We prove that this property is preserved by every strongly- absolutely-ccc forcing extension, and that this is essentially the optimal preservation result, i.e., it does not hold for absolutely-ccc forcing notions.

Modelling and predicting forced migration
Migration models have evolved significantly during the last decade, most notably the so-called flow Fixed-Effects (FE) gravity models. Such models attempt to infer how human mobility may be driven by changing economy, geopolitics, and the environment among other things. They are also increasingly used for migration projections and forecasts.

Instantaneous rigid force model based on oblique cutting to predict milling force
In end milling, in order to improve machining efficiency and accuracy, instantaneous rigid force model is widely used to predict cutting force and improve cutting conditions.

A novel run-out model based on spatial tool position for micro-milling force prediction
The tool run-out significantly affects prediction of milling force, which is crucial for monitoring the micro-end-milling processes. For accurately predicting milling force, a novel tool run-out model is presented, which is based on spatial tool position

Positive definiteness of the blended force-based quasicontinuum method [PDF]
The development of consistent and stable quasicontinuum models for multidimensional crystalline solids remains a challenge. For example, proving the stability of the force-based quasicontinuum (QCF) model [M. Dobson and M. Luskin, M2AN Math. Model. Numer.

Machinability of inconel 718 during turning: Cutting force model considering tool wear, influence on surface integrity [PDF]
Machining accuracy can be compromised by elastic workpiece deformation and subsurface residual stress introduction during cutting. In order to anticipate the impact of cutting forces and surface integrity evolutions on finished surface and its ...

Model theoretic forcing in analysis
We present a framework for model theoretic forcing in a non-first-order context, and present some applications of this framework to Banach space theory.

NATO’S NEW FORCE MODEL: ADAPTING TO A DYNAMIC SECURITY LANDSCAPE [PDF]
History shows that the Alliances which maintained relevant and timely transformation have outlived others. In this regard, NATO, the biggest political-military organization of its time might undoubtedly be referred as the most successful one of the same ...
