COMMERCIAL-SCALE FORCED-AIR COOLING OF PACKAGED STRAWBERRIES

Transactions of the ASAE, 2004
Strawberries are an extremely valuable crop, but they are also very sensitive to decay if not cooled and maintained at proper temperatures. Strawberries are typically packaged in the field and quickly transported to a cooling facility, where they are precooled by forcing cold air through the vents of the packaging.

Active noise control in a forced-air cooling system

Control Engineering Practice, 2010
Active noise control Feedforward control Parameter estimation Digital filters Control applications a b s t r a c t This paper discusses the design methodology for the active noise control of sound disturbances in a forced-air cooling system. The active sound cancellation algorithm uses the framework of output-error based optimization of a linearly ...

Force Air Cooled Electronic Equipment Under Loss of Cooling Condition With Blocked Air Duct

ASME 2007 InterPACK Conference, Volume 1, 2007
There are many electronic equipments are cooled by forced cooling airs. Some equipment’s forced cooling air is supplied by air ducts, where air blower is located at a distance. In many cases, when the remote blower is out of order, the buoyancy of heated air cannot generate enough pressure to overcome the long air ducts and the blower.

Thermal management and forced air-cooling of supercapacitors stack

Applied Thermal Engineering, 2015
Abstract The main objective of this study is to investigate heat transfer inside and around a supercapacitor stack. The crossflow staggered arrangement with five rows was also studied for different transverse and longitudinal pitches. The mathematical model governing the problem is numerically solved in a three-dimensional computational domain using ...

Forced-air cooled strontium-ion recombination laser

Optics Communications, 1991
Abstract The performance of a small (12.6 mm bore) Sr + discharge-afterglow recombination laser (λ 430.5 nm) is assessed with free convection cooling of the laser tube, and with forced-air convection cooling. It is found that the application of forced-air cooling enables a 120% higher input-power loading for optimum tube-wall temperature, that ...

The practical limits of forced-air cooling of electronic equipment

Conference Proceedings., Eleventh International Telecommunications Energy Conference, 2003
Cooling with forced air is analyzed from a general perspective. It is demonstrated that there are physical processes that limit the maximum dissipation of heat from a frame or shelf of electronic equipment. These constraints are shown to arise from the limitations on allowable acoustic noise.
