A Biomarker‐Driven Ovary–Endometrium Organ‐on‐a‐Chip Mimicking 3D Multicellular Complexity and Menstrual Cyclicity for Predicting Reproductive Toxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a dual‐organ, biomarker‐integrated ovaryendometrium organ‐on‐a‐chip that recapitulates 3D tissue complexity, menstrual cycle dynamics, and hormonal crosstalk. This platform enables real‐time, cell‐typespecific fluorescent readouts of reproductive toxicity using ANGPTL4 and SERPINB2 as early‐response reporters.

Engineering correlations of variable-property effects on laminar forced convection mass transfer for dilute vapor species and small particles in air [PDF]

open access: yes
A simple engineering correlation scheme is developed to predict the variable property effects on dilute species laminar forced convection mass transfer applicable to all vapor molecules or Brownian diffusing small particle, covering the surface to ...

Cases of mutual compensation of the magnetic and buoyancy forces in mixed convection past a moving vertical surface [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
It is shown in this Note that under certain conditions, in the hydromagnetic mixed convection flow over a stretching vertical surface, between the magnetic and the buoyancy forces a mutual compensation effect can occur, such that the mixed convection ...

Climate Change Threatens Micronutrient Density of European Winter Wheat

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Micronutrients are vital for human health. Wheat is a major staple crop and a significant source of minerals and B‐vitamins. The impact of climate change on their content remains largely unknown. We evaluated micronutrient levels in European winter wheat grown under historical and projected climate conditions. Our findings indicate that future climates

Analysis of forced convection in the HTTU experiment using numerical codes

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology
The High Temperature Test Unit (HTTU) was an experimental set-up to conduct separate and integral effects tests of the Pebble Bed Modular Reactor (PBMR) core. The annular core consisted of a randomly packed bed of uniform spheres.

Forced-convection surface-boiling heat transfer and burnout in tubes of small diameters [PDF]

open access: yes, 1962
A basic heat-transfer apparatus was designed and constructed for the study of forced-convection boiling in small channels. The various regions of forced-convection surface boiling were studied experimentally and analytically.

Highly‐Conductive and Micro‐Structured Transparent Glass Substrates for Efficient and Scalable Photoelectrochemical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work paves the way for practical photoelectrochemical water splitting devices by addressing key upscaling challenges related to substrate conductivity, absorber inhomogeneity, and mass transfer limitations. Integrated improvements in substrate engineering, material processing, device architecture, and operational conditions allow the development ...
