A green, external‐catalyst‐free route grows defect‐free covalent organic framework membranes directly on ion‐exchange supports using an alternating electric field and in situ‐generated acid. Through a self‐regulating, self‐healing mechanism, the membranes achieve near‐complete, ultra‐fast separation of monovalent ions such as Li+, Na+, and K+, offering

A proposal for refining the forced swim test in Swiss mice
The forced swim test (FST) is a preclinical test to the screening of antidepressants based on rats or mice behaviours, which is also sensitive to stimulants of motor activity. This work standardised and validated a method to register the active and passive behaviours of Swiss mice during the FST in order to strength the specificity of the test.

Biohybrid Crawling Robot With Spiral‐Spring Backbone and Inclined Legs for Enhanced Locomotion
We present a biohybrid crawling robot integrating a muscle ring with a flexible skeleton combining two complementary structural elements. The spiral‐spring backbone enables large‐amplitude bending without compromising axial stability, while outward‐inclined legs with unequal front–rear lengths effectively convert deformation into directional strides ...

Effects of E2 administration on depression phenotypes in the forced swim test.
On day 1, mice were placed in a plastic cylinder filled with water, forced to swim for 15 min, and then returned to the home cage. On day 2, mice were placed into the water again and forced to swim for 6 min.

Stepwise dual‐side functionalization creates covalent Janus graphene with chemically and electrostatically asymmetric interfaces. The resulting nonadditive surface‐potential response and pronounced charge‐transport modulation demonstrate a versatile route for tailoring the electronic properties of graphene.

Psychomotor retardation in depression: A critical measure of the forced swim test
DSM-5 lists 9 different symptoms for major depressive disorder and dictates that either "depressed mood" or "loss of interest or pleasure" should be present for diagnosis. Both are relatively high-level symptoms of the complex affecto-cognitive disease.

Directional Confinement Governed Ion Transport for Efficient Actuation
Structural anisotropy provides an effective means to regulate ion transport in polymer electrolytes. Directionally aligned channels formed by freeze‐drying provide continuous pathways for ion migration, enhancing ion mobility and simultaneously improving the strain and blocking force of ionic actuators.
