Grey correlation-oriented Random Forest and Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm for Power Load Forecasting

open access: yesJournal of Applied Science and Engineering, 2021
Accurate power load prediction plays an important role in the design of power distribution equipment and distribution network. The traditional forecasting methods have problems with the low accuracy of power load forecasting and slow model training.

Angular Combining of Forecasts of Probability Distributions [PDF]

open access: yesManagement Science
When multiple forecasts are available for a probability distribution, forecast combining enables a pragmatic synthesis of the information to extract the wisdom of the crowd. The linear opinion pool has been widely used, whereby the combining is applied to the probabilities of the distributional forecasts.

Upacicalcet: A Novel Intravenous Calcimimetic Agent for Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis With Secondary Hyperparathyroidism

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) is a common complication in patients receiving maintenance dialysis, driven by calcium and phosphate metabolism disturbances. Calcimimetics are central to the management of SHPT by enhancing calcium‐sensing receptor sensitivity and reducing parathyroid hormone secretion.

Quintile regression based approach for dynamical VaR and CVaR forecasting using metalog distribution

open access: yesSistemnì Doslìdženâ ta Informacìjnì Tehnologìï, 2021
The paper proposes a new method of dynamic VaR and CVaR (ES) risk measures forecasting. Quantile linear GARCH model is chosen as the main forecasting model for time series quantiles.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Net load forecasting method in distribution grid planning based on LSTM network

open access: yesScience and Technology for Energy Transition
Distribution grid planning involves multiple nodes, lines, equipment, and other elements. Due to the large scale of the system, there are complex interactions in space. The net load is affected by the load changes of different nodes.

Quantile convolutional neural networks for Value at Risk forecasting

open access: yesMachine Learning with Applications, 2021
This article presents a new method for forecasting Value at Risk. Convolutional neural networks can do time series forecasting, since they can learn local patterns in time.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...
