The Role of Ionic Liquids at the Biological Interfaces in Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ionic liquids (ILs) are highlighted as key artificial ionic materials that bridge biological ion‐based signaling and electronic devices. By understanding their composition, structure, function relationships, and mechanisms, ILs can advance from high performance electrolyte to core materials enabling integrated, multifunctional bioelectronics for ...

[Pulmonary reaction to foreign bodies].

open access: yesVestnik khirurgii imeni I. I. Grekova, 1976
The response of the pulmonary tissue in a continuous stay of foreign bodies in the lung is characterized by chronic inflammation of the pulmonary tissue, deformation of the bronchial tree, atrophic, hyperplastic and dystrophic changes in the ciliated epithelium and its metaplastic degeneration into multitratum squamous epithelium.

Radical‐Mediated, Substrate‐Independent Fabrication of Hybrid Solid–Hydrogel Materials With Tunable Crosslinking: An Initiator‐ and Crosslinker‐Free Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a substrate‐independent, reagent‐free plasma strategy that forms radical‐rich interlayers for covalent hydrogel attachment without initiators or crosslinkers. The long‐lived radicals drive in situ gelation, creating robust, cytocompatible hybrid solid–hydrogel constructs across diverse substrates.

Developmentally Inspired, Mechanical–Metabolic Dual Gradient Osteochondral Constructs Bridging Regeneration and Therapeutic Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A developmentally inspired osteochondral construct integrates mechanical and metabolic dual gradients within a 3D‐printed platform. Human MSC spheroids are spatially directed to form cartilage–bone interfaces, enabling evaluation of regeneration without biochemical reagents and assessment of drug responses. This physiologically relevant, phase‐specific

Foreign Body Granuloma: A Diagnosis Not to Forget

open access: yesCase Reports in Orthopedics, 2012
Penetrating wounds of the foot are not uncommon. Many are caused by thorns or by fragments of wood that are retained in the foot, creating a foreign-body granuloma.

MBE Growth of Al/InAs and Nb/InAs Superconducting Hybrid Nanowire Structures

open access: yes, 2017
We report on \textit{in situ} growth of crystalline Al and Nb shells on InAs nanowires. The nanowires are grown on Si(111) substrates by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) without foreign catalysts in the vapor-solid mode.

Gastric foreign body granuloma resembling gastric cancer: a case report

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Internal Medicine
Fishbones are frequently swallowed by foreign objects that can penetrate the gastrointestinal tract. Nonetheless, it is quite uncommon for these fishbones to become lodged within the tract, resulting in the formation of foreign body granulomas that ...
