The East Aegean Sea strong earthquake sequence of October–November 2005: lessons learned for earthquake prediction from foreshocks [PDF]

open access: yesNatural Hazards and Earth System Sciences, 2006
The seismic sequence of October–November 2005 in the Samos area, East Aegean Sea, was studied with the aim to show how it is possible to establish criteria for (a) the rapid recognition of both the ongoing foreshock activity and the mainshock, and (

Long Term Evolution of Magnetic Turbulence in Relativistic Collisionless Shocks: Electron-Positron Plasmas

open access: yes, 2007
We study the long term evolution of magnetic fields generated by a collisionless relativistic $e^+e^-$ shock which is initially unmagnetized. Our 2D particle-in-cell numerical simulations show that downstream of such a Weibel-mediated shock, particle ...

2022年6月10日四川马尔康MS6.0震群序列时空演化特征

open access: yesDizhen xuebao

Quasiperpendicular high Mach number Shocks

open access: yes, 2015
Shock waves exist throughout the universe and are fundamental to understanding the nature of collisionless plasmas. Reformation is a process, driven by microphysics, which typically occurs at high Mach number supercritical shocks.

Magnetospheric studies using the UKS data [PDF]

open access: yes
The magnetic field data from the UKS spacecraft were analyzed to learn more about the solar wind interaction with the Earth's magnetosphere and about the magnetosphere itself.

Observations and Simulations of a Double‐Core Hot Flow Anomaly

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Hot Flow anomalies (HFAs), one of the most well‐analyzed transient phenomena in the Earth's foreshock, are known as kinetic structures driven by tangential discontinuities (TDs).

Deceleration of the solar wind in the Earth foreshock region: ISEE 2 and IMP 8 observations [PDF]

open access: yes
The deceleration of the solar wind in the region of the interplanetary space filled by ions backstreaming from the Earth bow shock was studied using a two spacecraft technique.

Detection of bump-on-tail reduced electron velocity distributions at the electron foreshock boundary [PDF]

open access: yes
Reduced velocity distributions are derived from three-dimensional measurements of the velocity distribution of electrons in the 7 to 500 eV range in the electron foreshock.

Some contributions to knowledge of the magnetospheric plasma by ISEE investigators [PDF]

open access: yes
The ISEE project has made substantial contributions to the knowledge of the magnetosphere during the period of the IMS, especially in the discipline of Space Plasma Physics.
