Resilience to Forest Disturbances

Abstract Ecological disturbances of various sizes are natural to all forests, but are increasing owing to climate change. Wildfires, windstorms, and outbreaks of herbivorous insects are especially widespread sources of damage to trees and timber supplies, but also leave biological legacies important to biodiversity.
