Photothermal Macroporous Lignin Cryogels for Off‐Grid, Continuous Atmospheric Water Collection via Interlayer Heat Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Photothermal, macroporous lignin‐based cryogels are engineered to convert sunlight into low‐grade heat. Integrated as stacked beds in a drum‐type device, a thin copper interlayer transfers waste heat between beds, enabling interlayer heat recovery and continuous solar cycling.

Financial Feasibility of Timber Harvesting Under Conventional and Sustainable Forest Management in a Timber Concession in Terengganu [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
One of the issues in forest management was the implementation of the Malaysian Criteria and Indicators (MC&I). This would increase the cost of forest harvesting (timber harvesting) and affect the concessionaire’s profit.

Shaping of Biohybrid Functional Living Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates a strategy for shaping living mycelium into functional materials by directing its natural growth. Nanoparticles armor hyphae, micron‐scale particles entangle within the network, and printed hydrogel architectures steer expansion, creating defined geometries.
