Exploiting coarse grained parallelism in conceptual data mining: finding a needle in a haystack as a distributed effort [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A parallel implementation of Ganter’s algorithm to calculate concept lattices for Formal Concept Analysis is presented. A benchmark was executed to experimentally determine the algorithm’s performance, including an AMD Athlon64, Intel dual Xeon, and ...

Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...

Veri Tabanlarında Bilgi Keşfine Formel Bir Yaklaşım: Kısım 2 - Eşleştirme Sorguları ve Algoritmalar / A Formal Approach to Discovery in Very Large Databases: Part 2 - Association Queries and Algorithms

open access: yesBilgi Dünyası, 2003
In this study we utilize formal concept analysis to model association rules. Formal concept analysis provides a topological structure for a universe of objects and attributes.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Applicability of mitotic figure counting by deep learning: a development and pan‐cancer validation study

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In this study, we developed a deep learning method for mitotic figure counting in H&E‐stained whole‐slide images and evaluated its prognostic impact in 13 external validation cohorts from seven different cancer types. Patients with more mitotic figures per mm2 had significantly worse patient outcome in all the studied cancer types except colorectal ...

Veri Tabanlarında Bilgi Keşfine Formel Bir Yaklaşım: Kısım 1 - Eşleştirme Sorguları ve Algoritmalar / A Formal Approach to Discovery in Very Large Databases: Part 1 - Association Queries and Algorithms

open access: yesBilgi Dünyası, 2002
In the last two decades, we have witnessed an explosive growth in our capabilities to both collect and store data, and generate even more data by further computer processing.

A Web Page Clustering Method Based on Formal Concept Analysis

open access: yesInformation, 2018
Web page clustering is an important technology for sorting network resources. By extraction and clustering based on the similarity of the Web page, a large amount of information on a Web page can be organized effectively.

Quantitative proteomic analysis reveals different characteristics of bladder cancer cells after exposure to bisphenol A

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

Use of Concept Lattices for Data Tables with Different Types of Attributes

open access: yesJournal of Information and Organizational Sciences, 2012
In this paper we describe the application of Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) for analysis of data tables with different types of attributes. FCA represents one of the conceptual data mining methods.
