Toward Pore‐Engineered 3D‐Printed Materials for Sorption Water Harvesting, Interfacial Evaporation, and Radiative Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Water harvesting, radiative cooling, and interfacial solar evaporation are fundamentally governed by coupled heat, mass, and light transport processes. These processes are mediated by pore architecture, including pore size, connectivity, and hierarchical organization.

Topological Spin‐Texture Transitions in van der Waals Magnets Revealed by X‐Ray Fourier Transform Holography

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Applied here for the first time to a 2D material, high‐resolution synchrotron x‐ray Fourier transform holography directly images topological spin textures in Fe3GeTe2. Combined with atomistic tight‐binding simulations including itinerant electrons and Rashba spin‐orbit coupling, the approach reveals labyrinth, skyrmion, and mixed phases, and uncovers ...

When is Grounded Theory (GT) Not Grounded Theory

open access: yesGrounded Theory Review: An International Journal
The term grounded theory, in the vernacular sense, has a certain je-ne-sais-quoi; it sounds scholarly and is appealing to many researchers worldwide. Since its formal inception in 1967 with Glaser and Strauss the design has, for good or bad, undergone ...

Mapping Correlated Environmental Landscapes in the Fluorescence Response of a Pyrenylated Charge‐Transfer Probe via Data‐Driven Nonlinear Regression

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A pyrenylated donor–acceptor probe exhibits environment‐dependent fluorescence governed by intramolecular charge transfer, restricted molecular motion, and supramolecular organization. Nonlinear regression accurately reconstructs fluorescence responses to viscosity, temperature, concentration, and pH, while correlated parameter maps reveal hidden ...

The Application of Mindfulness Meditation in Mental Health: Can Protocol Analysis Help Triangulate a Grounded Theory Approach?

open access: yesForum: Qualitative Social Research, 2002
The methods of Grounded Theory and Protocol Analysis were triangulated in a study of mindfulness meditation as used by participants with a history of depression.

Helicity‐Dependent All‐Optical Switching in Bi,Ga‐Substituted Rare‐Earth Iron Garnet Films Driven by Orbital Magnetic Moment

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Helicity‐dependent all‐optical magnetization switching was demonstrated for the Bi‐ and Ga‐substituted rare‐earth (R) iron garnet crystal thin films (Bi,Ga:RIG; R = Eu3+, Nd3+, and Y3+). The efficiency followed the order EIG > NIG > YIG. These results show the correlation between 4f orbital moment (4f〈L〉) of R3+ and helicity‐dependent optical ...

Accounting Practices in the Tanzanian Local Government Authorities (LGAs): The Grounded Theory of Manipulating Legitimacy

open access: yes, 2013
This research investigates accounting practices in four Tanzanian Local Government Authorities (LGAs). It seeks to understand how accounting is practiced and the situations which sustain its undertaking.

Heteroleptic Ag(I) Complexes Bearing Benzothiazole and Benzoxazole Ligands for Orange‐Red Light‐Emitting Electrochemical Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Light‐emitting Electrochemical Cells (LECs) are appealing electroluminescent devices with potential application in low‐cost, large‐area display technology and disposable devices. In the manuscript, a novel family of bright photo‐ and electro‐active heteroleptic silver(I) is presented and comprehensively investigated.

Dynamic Fluorescence Modulation via Light‐Driven Competitive Protonation

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐component molecular system demonstrates reversible, light‐driven fluorescence write–erase cycling and thermal imaging. Illumination of a merocyanine photoacid transfers a proton to a highly efficient fluorescent pyridinium dye, switching its emission color; thermal relaxation reverses the process in the dark.

Donor‐Strength‐Driven Evolution From Charge‐Transfer to Polymethine Excited States in CurcBF2 Derivatives

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Donor strength governs the excited‐state character and TADF behavior of donor‐acceptor‐donor borondifluoride curcuminoid derivatives. Increasing donor strength drives a transition from charge‐transfer TADF to a zwitterionic polymethine structure with predominantly local excited‐state emission and suppressed TADF.
