On compositions with $x^2/(1-x)$

open access: yes, 2014
In the past, empirical evidence has been presented that Hilbert series of symplectic quotients of unitary representations obey a certain universal system of infinitely many constraints. Formal series with this property have been called \emph{symplectic}.

Two Notes on Formal Power Series [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1956
1. Analytically independent formal (integral) power series. Let k be an arbitrary field and let Ln be the ring of formal series k [[XI, X2, * * * , Xnx] in n variables x1, X2, , * * I xn with coefficients in k. We recall that given m elements fi(x1, x2, * * , xn), i = 1, 2, .

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

The skills required for transition to university and study in biological sciences: A student perspective

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bioscience students were asked for their opinions on the value and teaching of skills. 204 responded that teamwork, time management and study skills are necessary to reach University, that scientific writing, research, laboratory and presentation skills are taught effectively during their studies, while other skills are gained inherently through study ...

Recent results on iterative roots

open access: yesESAIM: Proceedings and Surveys, 2014
This is a rough survey of some results on iterative roots (fractional iterates) published recently. Also some historical information to clear the connection to previous results has been given.

On Inner Expansions for a Singularly Perturbed Cauchy Problem with Confluent Fuchsian Singularities

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
A nonlinear singularly perturbed Cauchy problem with confluent Fuchsian singularities is examined. This problem involves coefficients with polynomial dependence in time.

Support of Laurent series algebraic over the field of formal power series

open access: yes, 2018
This work is devoted to the study of the support of a Laurent series in several variables which is algebraic over the ring of power series over a characteristic zero field.

Clinical Spectrum and Outcomes of SOX1 Antibody‐Associated Paraneoplastic Neurological Syndromes: A Chinese Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background SOX1 antibody‐positive paraneoplastic neurological syndromes (PNS) exhibit significant population‐specific clinical heterogeneity. While Western cohorts predominantly manifest Lambert‐Eaton myasthenic syndrome (65%–80%), comprehensive clinical characterization and treatment response data in Asian populations remain critically ...

The multidimensional $g$-fraction with nonequivalent variables corresponding to the formal multiple power series

open access: yesKarpatsʹkì Matematičnì Publìkacìï, 2013
In this paper we consider the multidimensional $g$-fraction with nonequivalent variables which is the generalization of the continued $g$-fraction. The correspondence between the formal multiple power series and the above mentioned fraction is studied.

A Generalization of Caristi’s Fixed Point Theorem in the Variable Exponent Weighted Formal Power Series Space

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2021
Suppose pn be sequence of positive reals. By Hwpn, we represent the space of all formal power series ∑n=0∞anzn equipped with ∑n=0∞λan/n+1pn0. Various topological and geometric behavior of Hwpn and the prequasi ideal constructs by s-numbers and Hwpn have ...
