Modal Theory of Phase‐Modulated and Frequency‐Shifting Ring Cavities

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
We present a theoretical and experimental characterization of the optical modes of dispersionless ring cavities with phase modulators or frequency shifters. Their response to arbitrary modulation acts as a filter for phase‐modulated modes that determine the optical output of passive resonators and lasers. This provides a general framework for analyzing

Optimaalsusteooria fonoloogias

open access: yesEesti ja Soome-ugri Keeleteaduse Ajakiri, 2013
Optimaalsusteooria (OT) esitasid 1990. aastate alguses Alan Prince ja Paul Smolensky. Praeguseks on OTst saanud enim kasutatav teooria fonoloogias. Tegemist on generatiivse teooria edasiarendusega.

Numerical and Experimental Methods for Estimating the Propagation Loss in Microphotonic Waveguides

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
Finite‐element finite‐difference time domain, eigenmode‐expansion, and volume‐current simulations are benchmarked against cut‐back, ring‐resonator, and OFDR measurements to quantify waveguide propagation loss in integrated photonic circuits. Scattering, absorption, leakage, and back‐reflection contributions are dissected; error sources are ranked; and ...

Accelerating Luminescence in Nanostructures: Exploring the Physical Limits and Impact of Ultrafast Emission in Nanoscale Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in accelerating luminescence in nanostructures through cooperative emission, resonator coupling, and nonlocal light–matter interactions. By unifying concepts such as excitonic superradiance, superfluorescence, and the plasmonic Purcell effect, it reveals physical limits of ultrafast emission and their potential ...

Après l’autonomie : dépasser le modernisme dans la théorie de l’art états-unienne (1970-1980)

open access: yesPerspective
The arrival of French Structuralism across the Atlantic at the end of the 1970s made considerable waves in art theory circles. October is often presented as the academic journal that assimilated structuralist thought in order to challenge the formalist ...

Methodology for Topological Interface Engineering in 2D Photonic Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
This article introduces an automated framework for topological photonic crystal design. It features an iterative band connection method for identifying band crossings, a data‐driven approach for band symmetry recognition, and analysis of how topological mode dispersion trades off with photonic band‐gap size.

El historiador y la Novela: De la complicidad mimética a la mediación textual.

open access: yesHistoria Crítica, 2004
The article suggests the need for a shift in the historian's traditional outlook on literature, according to which the latter is a provider of «useful knowledge and information.» This point of view is based on the conception of the literary work—the ...

Comparison of the Performance of Fluorescent, Phosphorescent, and TADF Luminophores for Explosives Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
Both singlet and triplet populations of the TADF compound 4CzIPN are quenched upon interaction with dinitrotoluene by photoinduced electron transfer. However, their quenching rate is different, with the triplet excitons being more efficiently quenched due to a combination of their longer lifetime and larger population.

Musical Formalism and Political Performances

open access: yesContemporary Aesthetics, 2009
Musical formalism, which strictly limits the type of thing any description of the music can tell us, is ill-equipped to account for contemporary performance practice.
