Manifesting color-kinematics duality in the scattering equation formalism [PDF]
We prove that the scattering equation formalism for Yang-Mills amplitudes can be used to make manifest the theory’s color-kinematics duality. This is achieved through a concrete reduction algorithm which renders this duality manifest term-by-term.

Eduard Hanslick's formalism and his most influential contemporary critics [PDF]
The paper deals with the formalistic view on music presented in Eduard Hanslick's treatise On the Musically Beautiful, which is taken to be the founding work of the aesthtetics of music.

Generalized Cohomological Field Theories in the Higher Order Formalism [PDF]
In the classical Batalin—Vilkovisky formalism, the BV operator is a differential operator of order two with respect to a commutative product; in the differential graded setting, it is known that if the BV operator is homotopically trivial, then there is ...

Frame-Based Filter-Function Formalism for Quantum Characterization and Control
We introduce a theoretical framework for resource-efficient characterization and control of non-Markovian open quantum systems, which naturally allows for the integration of given, experimentally motivated, control capabilities and constraints.

On formal concepts of random formal contexts [PDF]
In formal concept analysis, it is well-known that the number of formal concepts can be exponential in the worst case. To analyze the average case, we introduce a probabilistic model for random formal contexts and prove that the average number of formal concepts has a superpolynomial asymptotic lower bound.

The Mellin formalism for boundary CFTd [PDF]
A bstractWe extend the Mellin representation of conformal field theory (CFT) to allow for conformal boundaries and interfaces. We consider the simplest holographic setup dual to an interface CFT — a brane filling an AdSd subspace of AdSd+1 — and perform ...

Husserl Between Frege’s Logicism And Hilbert’s Formalism
The traditional view regarding the philosophy of mathematics in the twentieth century is the dogma of three schools: Logicism, Intuitionism and Formalism.

Spin Transport at Interfaces with Spin-orbit Coupling: Formalism [PDF]
We generalize magnetoelectronic circuit theory to account for spin transfer to and from the atomic lattice via interfacial spin-orbit coupling. This enables a proper treatment of spin transport at interfaces between a ferromagnet and a heavy-metal non ...

On Formal Theories - And Formalisms for Virtual Enterprises [PDF]
One of the issues in development and implementation of Virtual Enterprise (VE) is a formal theory, or formal theories, Of VE. There are serious problems concerning VE, formal theory(ies) development, Besides the ones which are commonly known and easily perceived, one of the biggest problems is a general misunderstanding about formalisms and formal ...

Schwinger-Keldysh formalism. Part I: BRST symmetries and superspace [PDF]
A bstractWe review the Schwinger-Keldysh, or in-in, formalism for studying quantum dynamics of systems out-of-equilibrium. The main motivation is to rephrase well known facts in the subject in a mathematically elegant setting, by exhibiting a set of BRST
