Modelling of material cutting with a material microstructure-level (MML) model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this research work a material microstructure-level cutting model (MML cutting model) is presented. The crystal plasticity theory is adopted for modeling the cutting of the titanium alloy Ti–6Al–4V in orthogonal case.

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

Analysis of Geological Characteristics and Reservoir Potential Formation Damage Factors of Shallow Low‐Temperature Low‐Pressure Low‐Permeability Sandstone Reservoir

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering
The C‐S reservoir in the YQ district of Ordos basin, China, is located at a relatively shallow depth (240–720 m), with an original pressure coefficient of approximately 0.85 for the oil layer.

Experimental study of rheological properties of aphron based drilling Fluids and their effects on formation damage

open access: yes, 2017
Drilling  fluid is one of the most important and expensive aspects of any drilling process. Colloidal Gas Aphron (CGA) has been found e ective in controlling the ltration rate by bridging the pores of the reservoir rock; hence, reducing the formation ...

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

International Environmental Agreements in the Presence of Adaptation [PDF]

open access: yes
We show that adaptive measures undertaken by countries in the face of climate change, apart from directly reducing the damage caused by climate change, may also indirectly mitigate greenhouse gas emissions by increasing the stable size of international ...

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.
