Diverse Reactions of Formazanate/Formazan with Tetrylenes: Reduction, C−H Bond Activation, Substitution and Addition [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry - A European Journal, 2023
AbstractThe reactivity of the formazanate potassium salt [LtBuK(thf)] (LtBu=PhNNC(4‐tBuPh)NNPh) with the group 14 chlorotetrylenes [{PhC(tBuN)2}ECl] (E=Si, Ge, Sn) was investigated. Three corresponding compounds with unique configurations were formed, demonstrating the diverse reactivity of the system.

Synthesis and biological evaluation of formazan derivatives [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Pharmaceutical Technology & Research, 2010
The formazan derivatives (FM1-FM5) were synthesized by the reaction of benzaldehyde phenylhydrazone with substituted aromatic and hetero aromatic amines. The structures of the synthesized compounds were then elucidated using UV, IR, (1)H NMR and mass spectral data.

Cu(II) Removal from Aqueous Samples Using In Situ Functionalized Silica with Novel Synthesized Formazan: Synthesis, Characterization, Kinetic and Isothermal Studies. [PDF]

open access: yesACS Omega
A novel silica-based sorbent, silica-carbazole-formazan (Si-Carb-Formazan), was synthesized through in situ functionalization with a newly prepared carbazole formazan derivative to remove Cu(II) ions from aqueous solutions efficiently.

Localization of MTT formazan in lipid droplets. An alternative hypothesis about the nature of formazan granules and aggregates. [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean journal of histochemistry : EJH, 2007
MTT (3-(4, 5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2, 5-dihphenyltetrazolium bromide) assay is a widely used method to assess cell viability and proliferation. MTT is readily taken up by cells and enzymatically reduced to formazan, a dark compound which accumulates in cytoplasmic granules.

Cationic Boron Formazanate Dyes** [PDF]

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, 2021
Abstract Incorporation of cationic boron atoms into molecular frameworks is an established strategy for creating chemical species with unusual bonding and reactivity but is rarely thought of as a way of enhancing molecular optoelectronic properties.

The Formazanate Ligand as an Electron Reservoir: Bis(Formazanate) Zinc Complexes Isolated in Three Redox States [PDF]

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, 2014
AbstractThe synthesis of bis(formazanate) zinc complexes is described. These complexes have well‐behaved redox‐chemistry, with the ligands functioning as a reversible electron reservoir. This allows the synthesis of bis(formazanate) zinc compounds in three redox states in which the formazanate ligands are reduced to “metallaverdazyl” radicals.

Acid-base properties of 1,3-diphenyl-5-(1H-tetrazol-2-yl)formazan and 1,3-diphenyl-5-(2H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)formazan [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
Two new compounds from the formazan series, viz. 1,3-diphenyl-5-(1H-tetrazol-2-yl)formazan and 1,3-diphenyl-5-(2H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)formazan, were prepared, and the dissociation constants and molar absorptivities of all of their acid-base species were ...
