Green tea polyphenol tailors cell adhesivity of RGD displaying surfaces: multicomponent models monitored optically [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The interaction of the anti-adhesive coating, poly(L-lysine)-graft-poly(ethylene glycol) (PLL-g-PEG) and its Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) functionalized form, PLL-g-PEG-RGD, with the green tea polyphenol, epigallocatechin-gallate (EGCg) was in situ monitored. After,

An Implanted Tooth That Can Feel

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To endow the implanted tooth with masticatory perception, herein we demonstrate that a 3D‐printed piezoelectric‐core/robust‐sheath implanted tooth can rebuild the sensing feedback, serving as “mechanoreceptors” in converting the mechanical chewing force to electrical signals, and up to brain through surrounding alveolar nerve system.

Blue-Green algae agglomeration in surface water: a microbiotope of high bacterial activity [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
European Marine Biology Symposium. 15 1981 Abstract Mass accumulations of filamentous blue-green algae in surface waters of the Baltic Sea cause patches of high bacterial productivity within water masses of low microbial activity.

Dysregulation of the PATZ1/CTCF Balance Silences ZBTB20 to Drive Melanoma Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a new oncogenic mechanism in melanoma. The transcription factor PATZ1 competes with the architectural protein CTCF for DNA binding, thereby disrupting a specific chromatin loop and silencing the tumor suppressor ZBTB20. This event unleashes the pro‐tumorigenic PMEPA1‐p38‐STAT1 signaling axis, promoting cancer progression.

Neutrophil‐Driven Cascade‐Targeted Nanocarriers Restore Mitochondrial Homeostasis to Ameliorate Renal Ischemia–Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A neutrophil‐mediated dual‐targeting liposome (NKN‐LNP) is developed to treat renal ischemia–reperfusion injury. The system enables spatiotemporally controlled delivery of NMN to injured tubules via MMP‐2/9 activation and KIM1 recognition, restoring mitochondrial function through NAD+‐SIRT3 signaling and preventing the transition from acute kidney ...

CRISPR/Cas9‐Based Vanadium MXene‐Free Radical Spatiotemporally Controlled Nanoreactor for Photothermal‐Induced Multi‐Effect Synergistic Antitumor Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, a MXene‐based V4C3 nanoplatform, VARH, was constructed, which achieved a photothermal conversion efficiency of 44.21% in the NIR‐II window. This platform integrated photothermal therapy, chemodynamic therapy, and thermodynamic therapy with CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated heat shock protein 90 knock‐out technology.

Solid phase extraction of biogenic amines using immobilized new hydrazone ligands. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011

Brain and Liver Dual‐Targeting Oridonin Nanoparticles to Enhance Aβ Clearance for Alzheimer's Disease Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We developed a nanoparticle named OAF, which simultaneously targeted to both the brain and liver via the transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1) receptor, promoting lipoprotein receptor‐related protein 1 (LRP1) expression to enhance amyloid‐beta (Aβ) clearance. In AD mice model, OAF significantly reduced Aβ deposition and cognitive impairment, while a mitigating
