Herbicides comprise nearly half of the 5 billion pounds of pesticide active ingredients used worldwide annually. The active ingredient must be formulated with other ingredients to allow mixing, dilution, application, and stability. Liquid commercial formulations for spray foliar application include water-soluble liquids, emulsifiable concentrates ...

The aim of this work was to develop microemulsions and microemulsion gels which can be used as vehicles for the topical delivery of ivermectin. Tea tree oil and ethyl butanoate were found to be suitable for ivermectin-loaded microemulsion formulations due to the higher solubility of ivermectin in these two oils than other tested oils.

Active ingredients have been around in cosmetics for a long time but have they really resulted in active cosmetic products? In order to achieve this, the right ingredient needs to be delivered to the right location at the right concentration for the correct period of time and the extent (and therefore the concentration) of this delivery depends on the ...

The enduring stages of entomopathogenic nematodes of the genera Steinernema and Heterorhabditis are infective juveniles, which require a high humidity and sufficient ventilation for survival. Formulations must account for these requirements. Nematodes may be formulated inside the insects in which they reproduced or they need to be cleaned and mixed ...

Usability is empirical, and often highly context-specific, but it would be useful for designers to have general estimates of usability from interactive system specifications alone. We discuss how this problem may be approached, and we give examples. We also discuss the justification for the approach, since it is unusual to measure usability without ...

The rapid maturation of the field of biopharmaceutical formulation is the result of the simultaneous development of a thermodynamic mechanism for protein-solvent interaction and identification of natural chemicals employed by nature to stabilize proteins in response to environmental stresses.

Monocrotophos is an old product that is still very much appreciated as a low-cost and efficient insecticide. Due to its water solubility, formulation recipes are rather simple and no sophisticated equipment is required in a formulation plant. Formulations can easily be manufactured locally where they are going to be used. Formulants and the formulation
