Decomposing the impact of population growth on environmental deterioration: some critical comments on a widespread method in ecological economics [PDF]

open access: yes
The IPAT-model developed by Ehrlich and Holdren is widespread in ecological economics in order to quantify the impact of population growth on environmental deterioration.

Resistance to Overdoping Allows Over 2000 S cm−1 Conductivity in P(g3BTTT) With Anion‐Exchange Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Anion‐exchange doping of conjugated polymers is an effective way to achieve high conductivities. Here, we report over 2000 S cm−1 electrical conductivity for doped P(g3BTTT). In addition, we show that P(g3BTTT) sustains exceptionally high doping levels without any drop in the charge mobility.

How to be an Ecological Economist [PDF]

open access: yes
To answer the question "How to be an Ecological Economist", we must start by defining the field of Ecological Economics. Mainstream Economics altogether lacks the concepts required to deal adequately with nature, justice and time.

Resonant Domain Wall Dynamics in a Three‐Dimensional Magnetic Nano Double Helix

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D magnetic nanostructures promise exciting possibilities for magnetization dynamics. However, experimental realizations remain scarce. In nanoprinted cobalt double helices, time‐resolved X‐ray microscopy reveals harmonic domain wall dynamics. Simulations identify the mode and additional higher‐frequency resonances, revealing a rich dynamic landscape ...

You Don't Always Get What You Pay For [PDF]

open access: yes
Consider a principal-agent relationship in which more effort by the agent raises the likelihood of success. Does rewarding success, i.e., paying a bonus, increase effort in this case?

Low Resistance Interphase Formation at the PEO‐LiTFSI|LGPS Interface in Lithium Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Interfacial charge transfer and low‐resistance interphase formation between PEO‐based polymer and Li10GeP2S12 solid electrolytes are investigated using multi‐electrode impedance spectroscopy and advanced analytical techniques such as XPS and ToF‐SIMS.

Enhanced energy storage in relaxor (1-x)Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3-xBaZryTi1-yO3 thin films by morphotropic phase boundary engineering

open access: yesCommunications Materials
Perovskites at the crossover between ferroelectric and relaxor are often used to realize dielectric capacitors with high energy and power density and simultaneously good efficiency. Lead-free Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 is gaining importance in showing an alternative

Development and Validation in Air Traffic Control by Means of Real-Time Simulations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics, 2009
The airspace in Central Europe is already one of the busiest airspaces in the world and the forecasts predict further traffic increases. The current air transport system is reaching its capacity limits, not only at airports but also in parts of the en ...

Brown-von Neumann-Nash Dynamics: The Continuous Strategy Case [PDF]

open access: yes
In John Nash’s proofs for the existence of (Nash) equilibria based on Brouwer’s theorem, an iteration mapping is used. A continuous- time analogue of the same mapping has been studied even earlier by Brown and von Neumann.
