Muscle morphology and intramuscular fat after treatment‐as‐usual including botulinum neurotoxin A injections in children with cerebral palsy

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, EarlyView.
Normalized muscle volume remained unchanged in all evaluated muscles after the 12‐month treatment‐as‐usual in children with cerebral palsy. Higher intramuscular fat fraction was observed in the medial gastrocnemius, suggesting concurrent intramuscular fat infiltration.

Comparison of Diluted Insulin (U10) Versus Standard (U100) Insulin in Automated Insulin Delivery Systems: Reducing Time Below Range in Young Children

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Treating young children with Type 1 diabetes (CwT1D) is challenging due to their very small need for insulin. We investigated the safety of diluted insulin (U10) in the AID system and how its use affected glycaemic outcomes compared to standard insulin.

Economic Burden of Overweight and Obesity in Sweden: Current Estimates and Future Projections

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aims Overweight and obesity are major public health challenges and well‐established risk factors for cardiovascular disease, cancer and premature mortality. We estimated the economic burden of overweight and obesity in Sweden in 2023 and projected the future economic burden in 2040 under alternative scenarios of increasing prevalence ...

Liraglutide and Βeta‐Cell Function in Young Adults With Long‐Standing Type 1 Diabetes and Residual C‐Peptide: A Blinded, Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aims To evaluate the effect of liraglutide on residual beta‐cell function in adults with long‐standing type 1 diabetes (T1D) and detectable C‐peptide. Materials and Methods In this randomized, blinded, placebo‐controlled trial, 18 adults with T1D duration ≥ 5 years and detectable fasting C‐peptide were assigned to liraglutide or placebo for 52

Landscape and Geography Determine Saproxylic Beetle Captures in Pheromone‐Baited Traps

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, EarlyView.
Pheromone‐baited traps at 39 forest sites across southern Sweden captured 58 saproxylic beetle species, including seven Red‐listed taxa. The effect of surrounding forest cover on beetle abundance may depend on latitude and longitude: positive effects were strongest in warmer southern and eastern regions but weakened or reversed in colder northwestern ...

Functional and transcriptomic analyses in Neurospora crassa reveal a crucial role for the N‐glycoprotein deglycosylation process in fungal homeostasis

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
In Neurospora crassa, a cytosolic GH18 endo‐β‐n‐acetylglucosaminidase (ENGase) functions as an active deglycosylating enzyme. Deletion of this severely alters tolerance to multiple stress conditions and causes extensive transcriptomic reprogramming, including upregulation of a GH20 exo‐β‐n‐acetylhexosaminidase under ER stress, indicating that N. crassa

Histological AI‐Assisted Analysis Outperforms Pathologist Assessment in Predicting Disease Outcomes in PSC Patients

open access: yesHepatology Research, EarlyView.
Analyzing liver histology with AI assistance demonstrates superior prognostic performance compared to manual scoring in PSC. AI‐measured portal inflammation, fibrosis, biliary epithelium, and blood vessels predicted key clinical endpoints, such as liver transplantation due to end‐stage liver disease, highlighting the importance of liver histology as a ...
