Solvation Structure and Dynamics of the Thiocyanate Anion in mixed N,N‐Dimethylformamide‐Water Solvents: A Molecular Dynamics Approach

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 26, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
The solvation structure and dynamics of the SCN− anion in mixed N, N‐Dimethylformamide (DMF)‐water liquid solvents is investigated using classical molecular dynamics simulations. A preferential solvation of SCN− by the water molecules is observed in the first hydration shell, followed by a second shell consisting by both DMF and water molecules.

Monte Carlo integration on GPU [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We use a graphics processing unit (GPU) for fast computations of Monte Carlo integrations. Two widely used Monte Carlo integration programs, VEGAS and BASES, are parallelized on GPU.

Edge Fluid Turbulence Simulations of Stellarators With GRILLIX

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The edge fluid turbulence code GRILLIX has recently been extended from axisymmetric tokamak geometries to support 3D stellarator configurations. Following successful proof‐of‐principle simulations published in Stegmeir et al., we present here a comprehensive simulation of the Wendelstein 7‐AS stellarator.

Symbolic reduction of block diagrams using FORMAC [PDF]

open access: yes, 1968
Two computer programs - one written in FORMAC to generate the desired symbolic expressions, the other in FORTRAN 4 to numerically evaluate the expressions are announced.

A practical guide to species trend detection with unstructured data using local frequency scaling (Frescalo)

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Accurately measuring biodiversity change remains a central challenge in ecology. Beyond the general idea of quantifying temporal species frequency changes, several sampling‐related biases in data collection remain key methodological challenges to consider. Long‐term standardized ecological data are rare, and most available datasets exhibit considerable

Cedar Fortran and other vector and parallel Fortran dialects [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Supercomputing, 1990
The introduction of vector processors and multiprocessors has caused the most dramatic changes in Fortran and its dialects. The emerging generation of supercomputers utilizes both vector processing and multiprocessing. The challenge is to provide language constructs and software tools that will allow the programmer to easily exploit the capabilities of

Exergy‐Based Simulation and Optimization of Multiagent MSW Gasification for Sustainable Energy Recovery Using Aspen Plus

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Thermochemical gasification is one of the most efficient methods for producing solid waste synthesis gas. Therefore, to predict and analyze the process of gasification of municipal solid waste (MSW) in a downdraft fixed‐bed gasification reactor with a thermal capacity of 2.1 kW, a comprehensive numerical modeling approach based on Gibbs free ...

An open-source tool for improving on-farm yield forecasting systems

open access: yesFrontiers in Sustainable Food Systems, 2023
IntroductionThe increased frequency of extreme climate events, many of them of rapid onset, observed in many world regions, demands the development of a crop forecasting system for hazard preparedness based on both intraseasonal and extended climate ...
