Determination of wave intensity in flexible tubes using measured diameter and velocity [PDF]
Wave intensity (WI) is a hemodynamics index, which is the product of changes in pressure and velocity across the wave-front. Wave Intensity Analysis, which is a time domain technique allows for the separation of running waves into their forward and ...

Tseng's forward-backward-forward algorithm is a valuable alternative for Korpelevich's extragradient method when solving variational inequalities over a convex and closed set governed by monotone and Lipschitz continuous operators, as it requires in ...

Compressed sensing reconstruction algorithm based on adaptive acceleration forward-backward pursuit
Aiming at the long running time problem of the traditional forward-backward pursuit (FBP) algorithm,an adaptive acceleration forward-backward pursuit (AAFBP) algorithm was proposed. The reconstruction process of AAFBP algorithm can be divided into two ...

Smoothing Linear Multi-Target Tracking Using Integrated Track Splitting Filter
Multi-target tracking (MTT) is a challenging issue due to an unknown number of real targets, motion uncertainties, and coalescence behavior of sensor (such as radar) measurements.

Backward Induction versus Forward Induction Reasoning
In this paper we want to shed some light on what we mean by backward induction and forward induction reasoning in dynamic games. To that purpose, we take the concepts of common belief in future rationality (Perea [1]) and extensive form rationalizability

Forward-Backward algorithms for weakly convex problems
We investigate the convergence properties of exact and inexact forward-backward algorithms to minimise the sum of two weakly convex functions defined on a Hilbert space, where one has a Lipschitz-continuous gradient. We show that the exact forward-backward algorithm converges strongly to a global solution, provided that the objective function satisfies

A Distributed Forward–Backward Algorithm for Stochastic Generalized Nash Equilibrium Seeking
We consider the stochastic generalized Nash equilibrium problem (SGNEP) with expected-value cost functions. Inspired by Yi and Pavel (Automatica, 2019), we propose a distributed GNE seeking algorithm based on the preconditioned forward-backward operator splitting for SGNEP, where, at each iteration, the expected value of the pseudogradient is ...

Evaluation of vicinity-based hidden Markov models for genotype imputation
Background The decreasing cost of DNA sequencing has led to a great increase in our knowledge about genetic variation. While population-scale projects bring important insight into genotype–phenotype relationships, the cost of performing whole-genome ...

In this paper, we study a monotone inclusion problem in the framework of Hilbert spaces. (1) We introduce a new modified Tseng’s method that combines inertial and viscosity techniques. Our aim is to obtain an algorithm with better performance that can be

Forward-Backward-Half Forward Algorithm for Solving Monotone Inclusions [PDF]
Tseng's algorithm finds a zero of the sum of a maximally monotone operator and a monotone continuous operator by evaluating the latter twice per iteration. In this paper, we modify Tseng's algorithm for finding a zero of the sum of three operators, where we add a cocoercive operator to the inclusion.
