Quantum Spectral Clustering Framework via Compact Circuit Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 9, Issue 10, October 2026.
Can a quantum computer cluster data without ever reading the full kernel? This work shows that compact, parameterized circuits estimate the Laplacian quadratic forms directly and perform clustering, without explicitly constructing the full quantum fidelity‐kernel matrix.

Simulator‐Based Bayesian Inference of Enhanced Geothermal Reservoir Properties

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 3, Issue 5, October 2026.
Abstract Inversions of dynamic multi‐scale multi‐physics subsurface system properties rely on the effective sampling of high‐dimensional parameter spaces and are thus notoriously difficult to perform. The associated models are defined by complex nonlinear relationships with potentially stochastic components, which lead to analytically intractable ...

Physics‐Informed Reservoir Characterization From Bulk and Extreme Pressure Events With a Differentiable Simulator

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 3, Issue 5, October 2026.
Abstract Accurate characterization of subsurface heterogeneity is challenging but essential for applications such as reservoir pressure management, geothermal energy extraction and CO2 ${\text{CO}}_{2}$, H2 ${\mathrm{H}}_{2}$, and wastewater injection operations.

Decoding functional specialization in G protein‐coupled receptors (GPCRs) through evolution‐guided residue profiling

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 20, Page 6007-6027, October 2026.
Background and Purpose G protein‐coupled receptors (GPCRs) are integral membrane proteins that mediate physiological processes by enabling cells to detect and respond to diverse stimuli. Although many subfamily‐specific functional hotspots have been described, the family‐wide determinants of common and subfamily‐specific functions remain incomplete ...

A Time‐Calibrated Phylogeny and Historical Biogeography of Leptoceridae (Trichoptera): Diversification Shaped by Gondwanan Fragmentation and Conflicting Evidence for the Family's Origin

open access: yesJournal of Biogeography, Volume 53, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim Leptoceridae is the second most diverse caddisfly family, spreading across all biogeographical regions but with a higher species richness in the Oriental region; nevertheless, the Afrotropical, Austral and Neotropical regions have greater genera diversity and endemicity.

Random Carbon Tax Policy and Investment Into Emission Abatement Technologies

open access: yesMathematical Finance, Volume 36, Issue 4, Page 804-825, October 2026.
ABSTRACT We analyze the problem of a profit‐maximizing electricity producer, subject to carbon taxes, who decides on investments into CO2$\rm CO_2$ abatement technologies. We assume that the carbon tax policy is random and that the investment in the abatement technology is divisible, irreversible, and subject to transaction costs.
