Spinal neurons that contain gastrin-releasing peptide seldom express Fos or phosphorylate extracellular signal-regulated kinases in response to intradermal chloroquine [PDF]
Background: Gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP) is thought to play a role in the itch evoked by intradermal injection of chloroquine. Although some early studies suggested that GRP was expressed in pruriceptive primary afferents, it is now thought that GRP ...

Liver carcinogenesis by FOS-dependent inflammation and cholesterol dysregulation
Human hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs), which arise on a background of chronic liver damage and inflammation, express c-Fos, a component of the AP-1 transcription factor.

FN1, FOS, and ITGA5 induce preeclampsia: Abnormal expression and methylation
Objective: As a frequent hypertensive disorder in pregnancy, preeclampsia causes 15% of all preterm deliveries. This study aims to understand its mechanism via analyzing gene expression and methylation data. Methods: Human gene expression microarray data

c‐Fos transrepression revisited [PDF]
The c‐fos proto‐oncogene was discovered by homology to transforming viral genes, leading to speculation that transforming viruses had captured a cellular gene involved in cell cycle control. Indeed overexpression of c‐Fos protein led to deregulated growth control, and c‐Fos was thought to be so critically involved in cell cycle control that ...

c-Fos and Dusp1 confer non-oncogene addiction in BCR-ABL induced leukemia
Tyrosine-kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy for human cancers is not curative, and relapse occurs owing to the continued presence of tumor cells, referred to as minimal residual disease (MRD).

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.
