Potensi dan Karakteristik Bubuk Cangkang Telur yang Dibuat dengan Perendaman Asam Alami

open access: yesJurnal Peternakan Indonesia, 2023
Bahan pangan sumber zat gizi yang jarang dimanfaatkan namun jumlahnya berlimpah adalah cangkang telur. Penggunaan pretreatment asam untuk mempercepat waktu pengeringan, meminimalkan kehilangan zat gizi, menghilangkan aroma amis pada produk bubuk ...

Soil Properties and Plant Species Identity Independently Influence Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungal Composition Across Lowland Tropical Forests

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 58, Issue 2, March 2026.
We found that plant species identity and soil properties, especially soil phosphorus availability, independently structured arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal (AMF) community composition in tropical forests across central Panama. We also found that soil nutrient availability may mediate the interaction networks between plants and AMF. ABSTRACT Plant species

Could Organic Acids Be an Alternative to Sulfuric Acid for Improving the Fertilizer Value of Digestate Solid Fraction?

open access: yesCLEAN – Soil, Air, Water, Volume 53, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Phosphorus (P) recovery from biowaste is essential for improving nutrient recycling in agriculture. Acidification with sulfuric acid has proven effective in increasing the P availability of digestate solid fraction (DSF), but its use poses safety and regulatory concerns, especially in organic farming. This study evaluated the potential of five

Fast‐risky versus slow‐safe life histories mediate resprouting among Caribbean tropical dry forest trees

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 39, Issue 6, Page 1579-1593, June 2025.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Under climate change, shifting disturbance regimes necessitate understanding the linkages between biomass regeneration and plant function to assess forest resilience.

Strong scale‐dependent relationships between fine‐root function and soil properties uncovered with spatially coupled sampling

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 246, Issue 6, Page 2506-2521, June 2025.
Summary Substantial fine‐root trait variation is found at fine spatial scales but rarely linked to edaphic variation. We assessed the spatial scales of variation in fine‐root traits and adjacent soils using a spatially coupled, nested sampling scheme along a fertility gradient in a seasonally dry tropical forest tree, Handroanthus ochraceus.

Nitrogen and Phosphorus Allocation Strategies in a Chronosequence of Tropical Dry Forests: Plant Coordination and Environmental Drivers

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 57, Issue 2, March 2025.
We explored the allocation strategies of N and P in leaves and fine roots (metabolic organs) and, in stems and coarse roots (woody organs) of nine dominant tree species in secondary tropical dry forests using scaling analysis. The scaling relationships of P versus N concentrations in non‐leaf organs were isometric across secondary succession and ...

Testing the contribution of vertebrate predators and leaf traits to mainland–island differences in insect herbivory on oaks

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 113, Issue 1, Page 140-154, January 2025.
The authors explored how insularity influences herbivory in oaks across island–mainland sites. By experimentally excluding vertebrate predators (e.g. birds, bats) and measuring leaf traits (e.g. phenolics, specific leaf area, nutrients), they provide insights into the mechanisms driving island–mainland herbivory patterns.
