The nature and fate of natural resins in the geosphere VI. Analysis of fossil resins from Axel Heiberg Island Canadian Arctic [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Ambers are well known and abundant in terrestrial sediments all over the world; however, due largely to the absence of definite morphological characteristics, the precise botanical origin of most amber samples, are at best, often a matter of speculation.

Pharmaceuticals Made with Hydrogen: A Sustainable and Efficient Approach Using Flow Synthesis

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a sustainable strategy for pharmaceutical manufacturing by combining hydrogen, heterogeneous catalysis, and continuous flow synthesis. The development of novel catalysts and their application in a multi‐step synthesis of donepezil enabled a highly productive process with no intermediate purification.

Synthesis of a bio-based unsaturated polyester resin from 2,5-furan dicarboxylic acid and isosorbide blended with a bio-based reactive diluent synthesized from 2,5-furandimethanol

open access: yesPolymers and Polymer Composites
A new bio-based unsaturated polyester resin was blended with a bio-based reactive diluent and evaluated. Furan-based monomers were selected as the main monomers in both the resin and the bio-based reactive diluent to enhance thermomechanical properties ...

Iron(III)‐loaded cation exchange resin: A dual approach for aqueous H2S removal and biogas desulphurization

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Left: Desulphurization method application. Right: Novel desulphurization method. Abstract The presence of hydrogen sulphide (H2S) in biogas poses significant environmental and operational challenges due to its corrosive and toxic properties. Thus, this study aimed to develop a dual‐function desulphurization system using a cation exchange resin (CIER ...

Xylose Acetals ‐ a New Class of Sustainable Solvents and Their Application in Enzymatic Polycondensation

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
Novel organic solvents with an unmodified carbohydrate core were synthesised both from D‐xylose and directly from biomass and were successfully used as reaction media for lipase biocatalysts to synthesise aliphatic and aromatic polyesters. Abstract The use of organic solvents in academic research and industry applications is facing increasing ...
