Proposal for Optimization of Spool Valve Flow Force Based on the MATLAB-AMESim-FLUENT Joint Simulation Method

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper focuses on the open-center multi-way valve used in loader buckets. To solve the problem of excessive flow force that leads to spool clamping in the reset process, joint simulations adopting MATLAB, AMESim, and FLUENT were carried out. Boundary

Optimized Forest-Ruth- and Suzuki-like algorithms for integration of motion in many-body systems

open access: yes, 2001
An approach is proposed to improve the efficiency of fourth-order algorithms for numerical integration of the equations of motion in molecular dynamics simulations.

BMP antagonist CHRDL2 enhances the cancer stem‐cell phenotype and increases chemotherapy resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Overexpression of CHRDL2 in colon cancer cells makes them more stem‐like and resistant to chemo‐ and radiotherapy. CHRDL2‐high cells have upregulation of the WNT pathway, genes involved in the DNA damage response (DDR) pathway and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT). This leads to quicker repair of damaged DNA and more cell migration.

Variational problem for the Frenkel and the Bargmann-Michel-Telegdi (BMT) equations

open access: yes, 2014
We propose Lagrangian formulation for the particle with value of spin fixed within the classical theory. The Lagrangian turns out to be invariant under non-abelian group of local symmetries. As the gauge-invariant variables for description of spin we can

EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.

The relativistic statistical theory and Kaniadakis entropy: an approach through a molecular chaos hypothesis

open access: yes, 2006
We have investigated the proof of the $H$ theorem within a manifestly covariant approach by considering the relativistic statistical theory developed in [G. Kaniadakis, Phy. Rev. E {\bf 66}, 056125, 2002; {\it ibid.} {\bf 72}, 036108, 2005].

Chimeric diphtheria toxin–CCL8 cytotoxic peptide for breast cancer management

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
DTCCL8 is a recombinant fusion toxin that targets cancer cells expressing chemokine receptors. By combining diphtheria toxin with CCL8, DTCCL8 binds to multiple receptors on tumor cells and induces selective cytotoxicity. This strategy enables receptor‐mediated targeting of cancer and may support the development of chemokine‐guided therapeutics ...

The Engineering Design and Prototyping of an Auxiliary Standing Toilet Chair Driven by Electric Cylinders

open access: yesMachines
As physical capabilities decline with age, elderly individuals often require assistance from others when using the toilet. An auxiliary standing toilet chair can enhance convenience for the elderly, allowing them to use the toilet independently ...

Extra force in $f(R)$ modified theories of gravity

open access: yes, 2007
The equation of motion for test particles in $f(R)$ modified theories of gravity is derived. By considering an explicit coupling between an arbitrary function of the scalar curvature, $R$, and the Lagrangian density of matter, it is shown that an extra ...

Comprehensive profiling of lncRNAs and mRNAs enriched in small extracellular vesicles for early noninvasive detection of colorectal cancer: diagnostic panel assembly and extensive validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Small extracellular vesicles are a promising source of diagnostic molecules. We conducted a comprehensive study, including transcriptome profiling and RT‐qPCR validation on large cohorts of samples. Diagnostic panels enabling sensitive detection of colorectal cancer and precancerous lesions were established. Some molecules were differentially expressed
