Mathematical Vector Quantity Modulated Three Phase Four Leg Inverter

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper it has been shown that any unbalanced and distorted three-phase currents can be efficiently generated as output from a four-leg (4L) inverter with mathematical implementation of three dimensional (3D) space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) in \( \upalpha{ - }\upbeta{ - }\upgamma \) frame.

Efficient and Adaptive Autonomous Guidance and Control of Planetary Rover With Improved Traction Controller and Dynamic Cost Map

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Planetary exploration is rapidly gaining importance within the space research community. Autonomous locomotion of rovers requires consideration of several mobility aspects to ensure safety, including avoiding hazardous areas that can cause the robot to become immobilized in soft soil or damaged in sharp terrains.

Probing the Energy Trilemma Pillars: Do Innovation Pathways Deliver Cleaner and More Equitable Energy Systems?

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Balancing reliable energy supply, equitable access, and environmental sustainability is a central challenge of the global energy transition. This study examines how innovation influences the energy trilemma by shaping energy security, energy equity, and environmental sustainability across 115 countries from 2011 to 2023.

The Edification of Manuela Xiqués: Slavery, Finance, Biography, and the Construction of Modern Barcelona

open access: yesGender &History, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT An analysis of the dual biographies, economic and domestic, of Manuela Xiqués, an enslaver from nineteenth‐century Cuba and Spain, deepens our understanding of the role of European and Creole women in the nineteenth‐century Atlantic. This essay foregrounds the role of literature, namely family biography, as a locus of the processes of ...

Iflaviruses in arthropods: when small is mighty

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
Many arthropod species harbor iflaviruses, which often cause covert (asymptomatic) infections, but may still affect host fitness. We review the impact of iflaviruses on arthropod fitness, immunity, behaviour as well as the iflavirus’ host range, transmission, tissue tropism and the interactions with other microorganisms within arthropods.

Altered cytoskeletal integrity underlies impaired platelet shape change and defective thrombus formation in ETV6‐related thrombocytopenia

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
Summary ETV6‐related thrombocytopenia (ETV6‐RT) is an inherited platelet disorder caused by germline ETV6 variants. Despite recent progress, the mechanisms underlying platelet dysfunction in ETV6‐RT remain unclear. We investigated 12 patients from six families using functional assays, electron microscopy, quantitative proteomics and cytoskeletal ...

A fault-tolerance topology of three-level four-leg NPC inverter

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2016
In view of problem that it is difficult to accurately locate device failure of inverter, a fault tolerance topology of three-level four-leg NPC inverter was proposed. In the topology, short-circuit fault and open-circuit fault can be located accurately by switching device used when topology changes, so as to provide a basis for fault-tolerant control ...

VQ‐Style: Disentangling Style and Content in Motion with Residual Quantized Representations

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Human motion data is inherently rich and complex, containing both semantic content and subtle stylistic features that are challenging to model. We propose a novel method for effective disentanglement of the style and content in human motion data to facilitate style transfer.

Skeletal‐Driven Animation of Anatomical Humans via Neural Deformation Gradients

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Most real‐time animation techniques for digital humans are limited to deforming the outer skin surface. Geometric skinning methods are highly efficient but struggle with artifacts such as collapsing joints or self‐intersections when animating inner anatomy along with the outer skin.

Quantitative assessment of gait alterations and variability in sulky‐driven Standardbred trotters after a standardised exercise test

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Assessment of equine metabolic and locomotory responses to quantified levels of physical exercise is needed to support the creation of tailored protocols for optimal training adaptation. The locomotory response to exercise in horses is not fully understood.
