Carrier-based PWM scheme for three-phase four-leg inverters

IECON 2013 - 39th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2013
This paper presents a pulse-width modulation (PWM) technique for controlling three-phase, four wire voltage source inverters (VSI). It is an extended scheme of a digital scalar pulse width modulation previously proposed for controlling three-leg inverters.

Model Predictive Control of Quasi-Z-Source Four-Leg Inverter

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2016
This paper presents a model predictive control (MPC) scheme for quasi-Z-source (qZS) three-phase four-leg inverter. In order to cope with the drawbacks of traditional voltage source inverters (VSIs), a qZS three-phase four-leg inverter topology is proposed.

Modified selective harmonic elimination employed in four-leg NPC inverters

IECON 2014 - 40th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2014
Three-phase four-leg neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter is more suitable in dealing with all sort of the loads especially unbalanced/nonlinear due to harmonics issues. Most control strategies applied on four-leg NPC are classified as high switching frequency lead to high power losses and low efficiency.

A Study of a 3-Phase Four-Leg Inverter Dynamic Operation

2018 International Conference on Engineering Technology and their Applications (IICETA), 2018
this paper deals with an analysis and study of 3P4L-VSI using the 3D-SVPWM technique. The analysis adopts the average large signal model. The work intended to show the ability of this inverter to overcome the challenge of feeding unbalanced, nonlinear and continuously changed load with balanced 3-phase voltages.

A simple control technique for three-phase four-leg inverters

International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion, 2006. SPEEDAM 2006., 2006
The paper takes into consideration three-phase four-leg inverters used to supply unbalanced loads without using a transformer. In literature different three-dimensional modulation techniques, requiring complex mathematical algorithms are proposed for this kind of inverter.

Concise Modulation Strategies for Four-Leg Voltage Source Inverters

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2004
The continuous, discontinuous pulse-width modulation (PWM) schemes and a novel space vector modulation methodology are proposed in this paper for four-leg dc-ac inverters. Using a space vector definition that includes the zero sequence voltage component and partitioning the feasible sixteen modes into two separate sets - one set having zero sequence ...

Modeling of a four-leg inverter based DSTATCOM for load compensation

2010 International Conference on Power System Technology, 2010
This paper derives a generalized mathematical model of a three-phase, four-wire, four-leg voltage source inverter topology for a DSTATCOM application. The four-leg inverter is operated in a current controlled mode by a suitable control strategy, to inject compensator currents in order to achieve harmonic compensation, load balancing and power factor ...

Active Filter Based on Four-Leg Inverter and PQ Theory

2019 21st International Middle East Power Systems Conference (MEPCON), 2019
The active power filter and unbalance compensator systems play an important role in power quality enhancement. This paper introduces the active power filter based on the 4-leg inverter for 4-wire applications. This system is capable to filter the source current from both harmonics and unbalance components.

Model predictive control of quasi-Z source three-phase four-leg inverter

IECON 2015 - 41st Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2015
This paper presents a model predictive control (MPC) scheme for quasi-Z source (qZS) three-phase four-leg inverters. In order to cope with drawbacks of the traditional voltage source inverters (VSI)s, the qZS three-phase four-leg inverter topology is proposed in this study. To improve control capability of the controller, the MPC scheme is used.
