Carrier-based PWM scheme for three-phase four-leg inverters

IECON 2013 - 39th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2013
This paper presents a pulse-width modulation (PWM) technique for controlling three-phase, four wire voltage source inverters (VSI). It is an extended scheme of a digital scalar pulse width modulation previously proposed for controlling three-leg inverters.

A simple control technique for three-phase four-leg inverters

International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion, 2006. SPEEDAM 2006., 2006
The paper takes into consideration three-phase four-leg inverters used to supply unbalanced loads without using a transformer. In literature different three-dimensional modulation techniques, requiring complex mathematical algorithms are proposed for this kind of inverter.

Design of the Neutral Line Inductor for Three-phase Four-leg Inverters

2019 IEEE Sustainable Power and Energy Conference (iSPEC), 2019
The three-phase four-leg inverter is one of the advanced solutions to feed unbalanced loads. However, the design of the neutral line hasn’t been well studied yet. This paper presents a mathematical model of the three-phase four-leg inverter with neutral line inductor, which is decoupled in the αβ0 coordinate and illustrates the effects of the neutral ...

A carrier-based discontinuous PWM modulation for four-leg inverters and applications

38th IAS Annual Meeting on Conference Record of the Industry Applications Conference, 2003., 2004
We review in this paper a carrier-based discontinuous pulse-width modulation (PWM) method for four-leg DC-AC inverters using an extended definition of the classical space vector methodology in which qd and the zero sequence components of the switching vectors enable the development of the expressions of the discontinuous modulation signals that clamp ...

Switching-Cell Four-Leg Current Source Inverter

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2021
Conventional current source inverter (CSI) suffers from open-circuit problem during switch transition. Thus, overlap-time should be inserted in the gate signals for safe commutation. The overlap-time distorts output current waveforms and increases total harmonic distortion of output current.

Eliminating Common Mode Conducted Emissions in Three-Phase Four-Leg Inverters

Electric Ship Technologies Symposium, 2021
This paper presents a control method to eliminate the common mode voltage created by a three-phase, four-leg voltage source inverter. Wide band gap devices create an opportunity to use pulse density modulation instead of pulse width modulation, with two ...
