We used high‐precision diet estimates from nest cameras to estimate amino acid‐specific trophic discrimination factors (TDFs) for gyrfalcon nestlings and compared these against TDFs for other taxa from the literature. TDFs for trophic amino acids in gyrfalcon were lower than values that have typically been used to estimate trophic position.

Indirect Environmental Effects on the Gut‐Brain Axis in a Wild Mammal
ABSTRACT Inconspicuous interactions between host physiological systems and resident microbial communities may underlie how animals respond to environmental change. For example, immunity and metabolism are regulated in part by the gut microbiota, which can be shaped indirectly by host neuroendocrine function via a ‘gut‐brain axis’.

We used stable isotope analysis to investigate the association between foraging choices and reproductive success in roof‐nesting herring gulls. Surprisingly, δ13C values indicated predominantly terrestrial foraging, while fledging success increased with elevated δ15N, indicating that mothers feeding at higher trophic levels produced higher quality eggs
