Fourier methods for biosequence analysis

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1990
Novel methods are discussed for using fast Fourier transforms for DNA or protein sequence comparison. These methods are also intended as a contribution to the more general computer science problem of text search. These methods extend the capabilities of previous FFT methods and show that these methods are capable of considerable refinement.

On Variational Fourier Particle Methods

open access: yesJournal of Scientific Computing
AbstractIn this article we describe a unifying framework for variational electromagnetic particle schemes of spectral type, and we propose a novel spectral Particle-In-Cell (PIC) scheme that preserves a discrete Hamiltonian structure. Our work is based on a new abstract variational derivation of particle schemes which builds on a de Rham complex where ...

Using all-phase Fourier method to reconstruct discontinuous signal

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2005
In order to reconstruct discontinuous signal with the least error by using finite information, the concept of all-phase data processing and the conventional Fourier approximation were combined.
