Adapting a Fourier pseudospectral method to Dirichlet boundary conditions for Rayleigh-Bénard convection [PDF]

open access: yesPapers in Physics, 2015
We present the adaptation to non-free boundary conditions of a pseudospectral method based on the (complex) Fourier transform. The method is applied to the numerical integration of the Oberbeck-Boussinesq equations in a Rayleigh-Bénard cell with no-slip ...

Numerical Simulation of Flows Using the Fourier Pseudospectral Method and the Immersed Boundary Method

open access: yesAxioms
The present work proposes the application of a computational methodology based on the coupling of the Fourier Pseudospectral Method (FPSM) and the Immersed Boundary Method (IBM) for conducting flow simulations over slender airfoils.

Fourier–Gegenbauer pseudospectral method for solving periodic fractional optimal control problems

open access: yesMathematics and Computers in Simulation, 2023
This paper introduces a new accurate model for periodic fractional optimal control problems (PFOCPs) using Riemann-Liouville (RL) and Caputo fractional derivatives (FDs) with sliding fixed memory lengths. The paper also provides a novel numerical method for solving PFOCPs using Fourier and Gegenbauer pseudospectral methods.

A Fourier Pseudospectral Method for Some Computational Aeroacoustics Problems [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aeroacoustics, 2006
A Fourier pseudospectral time-domain method is applied to wave propagation problems pertinent to computational aeroacoustics. The original algorithm of the Fourier pseudospectral time-domain method works for periodical problems without the interaction with physical boundaries.

A Pseudo-Spectral Fourier Collocation Method for Inhomogeneous Elliptical Inclusions with Partial Differential Equations

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
Inhomogeneous elliptical inclusions with partial differential equations have aroused appreciable concern in many disciplines. In this paper, a pseudo-spectral collocation method, based on Fourier basis functions, is proposed for the numerical solutions ...

Flow Modeling over Airfoils and Vertical Axis Wind Turbines Using Fourier Pseudo-Spectral Method and Coupled Immersed Boundary Method

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
In the present work, verifying the applicability and potentiality of the IMERSPEC methodology for numerical and computational modeling of two-dimensional flows over airfoils and vertical axis wind turbines is proposed.

Extended Split-Step Fourier Transform Approach for Accurate Characterization of Soliton Propagation in a Lossy Optical Fiber

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2022
In this paper, we present a novel extension of the well-known split-step Fourier transform (SSFT) approach for solving the one-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE), which incorporates the fiber loss term.
