Backprojection with Fourier series expansion and FFT

International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2002
A computerized tomography reconstruction technique with the fast Fourier transform (FFT) is discussed. A fast backprojection method through the use of interpolated FFT is presented. An approach to interpolating and backprojecting the convolved projections onto the image frame is proposed.

Backprojection with fourier series expansion and FFT

Systems and Computers in Japan, 1991
AbstractThe filtered backprojection (FBP) method has recently been used for almost all the practical CT scanners because of its simple principle and high accuracy in reconstruction of images. However, it is difficult to use this method for some applications such as a real time display in which images are adjusted during displaying images, since a ...

Fourier Series Expansion of Irregular Curves

Fractals, 1997
Fourier theory provides an important approach to shape analyses; many methods for the analysis and synthesis of shapes use a description based on the expansion of a curve in Fourier series. Most of these methods have centered on modeling regular shapes, although irregular shapes defined by fractal functions have also been considered by using spectral ...

Numerical evaluation of Fourier-Bessel series expansion

ICASSP '83. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
Fourier-Bessel (FB) series expansion of a given function has been in use to solve certain boundary value problems. Attempt had been made to utilize the FB series expansion coefficients to characterize certain class of signals [2]. This paper describes a fast and accurate algorithm for evaluating the FB series coefficients using interpolated FFT values ...

Teaching of Fourier series expansions in undergraduate education

2013 IEEE Global Engineering Education Conference (EDUCON), 2013
Here we discuss the teaching of Fourier series concepts in connection with undergraduate Electrical Engineering education. We briefly review some of the basic Fourier series theory, and present an Android application that has been found useful in this context.

On Fourier–Bessel series and the Kneser–Sommerfeld expansion

Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 2021
An error in Watson's Bessel Functions is corrected. It concerns a certain Fourier–Bessel series, an infinite series in which the terms involve the zeros of a Bessel function. Several related examples are discussed, and a connection with finite‐part integrals is noted.

Automated fourier series expansions for elliptic functions

Mechanics Research Communications, 1994
There exist dynamical systems consisting of perturbations superimposed on solvable (in the sense of E. T. Whitthaker) problems. Most solvable problems require elliptic functions. For qualitative solutions of such dynamical systems, this paper proposes an approximation of the unperturbed solution by a Fourier series expansion of the amplitude.

On the Use of Fourier-Bessel Series Expansion for Gear Diagnostics

open access: yes, 2012
This work seeks to study the potential effectiveness of Fourier-Bessel (FB) series expansion for gear fault diagnostics. FB series expansion is a method for cross-terms suppression in Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD). In particular, FB series expansion is
