Mode identification of low‐frequency oscillations in power systems based on fourth‐order mixed mean cumulant and improved TLS‐ESPRIT algorithm

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2017
Wide area monitoring systems (WAMS) provide effective support for online identification of low‐frequency oscillations in power systems. The WAMS signal is sensitive to the surrounding environment, and it contains Gaussian white noise.

Revisiting Radiation Patterns in $e^+e^-$ Collisions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We propose four simple event-shape variables for semi-inclusive $e^+e^- \to 4$-jet events. The observables and cuts are designed to be especially sensitive to subleading aspects of the event structure, and allow to test the reliability of ...

Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.

Descartes and the Possibility of Enlightened Freedom [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This paper offers a novel interpretation of Descartes's conception of freedom that resolves an important tension at the heart of his view. It does so by appealing to the important but overlooked distinction between possessing a power, exercising a power,

Identifying gene expression signatures for risk stratification of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in colorectal cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A novel signature integrating genome‐wide analysis with clinical factors predicts recurrence in stage II colorectal cancer and enables a new risk stratification to guide postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Clinical risk stratification for postoperative recurrence in patients with pathological stage II (pStage II) colorectal cancer (CRC) is essential ...

The hybrid power mean of quartic Gauss sums and Kloosterman sums

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2017
The main purpose of this paper is using the analytic method and the properties of the classical Gauss sums to study the computational problem of one kind fourth hybrid power mean of the quartic Gauss sums and Kloosterman sums, and give an exact ...

Network Localization of Fatigue in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Fatigue is among the most common symptoms and one of the main factors determining the quality of life in multiple sclerosis (MS). However, the neurobiological mechanisms underlying fatigue are not fully understood. Here we studied lesion locations and their connections in individuals with MS, aiming to identify brain networks ...

A comparative study of five numerical methods for the estimation of Weibull parameters for wind energy evaluation at Eastern Jerusalem, Palestine

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2022
Wind power provides a clean and feasible solution to generate electricity. The development of wind power applications requires a deep analysis of wind profiles and an accurate prediction of wind energy at a study site. This work explores the distribution

Acoustic Measures Capture Speech Dysfunction in Spinocerebellar Ataxia

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxias (SCA) are hereditary cerebellar degenerative disorders with a common feature of dysarthria, involving impaired phonatory and articulatory control of speech, thereby affecting social communication. In this study, we investigated whether acoustic measures could objectively measure speech dysfunction and identify
