Universal Properties of Ferroelectric Domains

open access: yes, 2009
Basing on Ginzburg-Landau approach we generalize the Kittel theory and derive the interpolation formula for the temperature evolution of a multi-domain polarization profile P(x,z).

Strategic Design of Soft Actuators in Translational Medical Robotics for Human‐Centered Healthcare

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Soft robotics enables biocompatible, compliant medical devices, but clinical translation requires design‐driven engineering beyond materials. This perspective reviews implantable, surgical, and wearable systems by actuation mechanism, highlighting how optimized architectures and integration improve mechanical interfacing, adaptability, and durability ...

The Smoothness of Fractal Interpolation Functions on ℝ and on p-Series Local Fields

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2014
A fractal interpolation function on a p-series local field Kp is defined, and its p-type smoothness is shown by virtue of the equivalent relationship between the Hölder type space CσKp and the Lipschitz class Lipσ,Kp. The orders of the p-type derivatives

Temporal and Cell‐Specific Regulation of Synaptic Homeostasis by the Chromatin Remodeler Chd1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chd1, the Drosophila homologue of mammalian CHD2 ‐ a gene linked to autism, epilepsy, and intellectual disability, is required for synaptic homeostatic plasticity. Chd1 in glia is necessary for the rapid induction of synaptic homeostasis, whereas Chd1 in motoneurons, muscle, and glia is critical for long‐term maintenance.

scResponse: A Rank‐Based Method for Identifying Cell States That Contribute to Immunotherapy Response by Single‐Cell Data

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Although the tumor microenvironment is known to shape immunotherapy response, its key determinants remain elusive, underscoring the critical need for single‐cell resolution analytical frameworks. We present scResponse, an efficient algorithm to quantify single‐cell responses to immunotherapy. By capturing diverse cellular subtypes and states associated

Non-Stationary Fractal Functions on the Sierpiński Gasket

open access: yesMathematics
Following the work on non-stationary fractal interpolation (Mathematics 7, 666 (2019)), we study non-stationary or statistically self-similar fractal interpolation on the Sierpiński gasket (SG).

Using fractals and power laws to predict the location of mineral deposits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Around the world the mineral exploration industry is interested in getting that small increase in probability measure on the earth's surface of where the next large undiscovered deposit might be found. In particular WMC Resources Ltd has operations world

Multiscale methods for problems with complex geometry

open access: yes, 2016
We propose a multiscale method for elliptic problems on complex domains, e.g. domains with cracks or complicated boundary. For local singularities this paper also offers a discrete alternative to enrichment techniques such as XFEM. We construct corrected

Smartly Assembled near‐Micron RF‐Responsive Agents Bridge Transarterial Embolization and Immunothermal Potentiation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains a significant clinical challenge due to the limited efficacy of conventional treatments like surgery, radiofrequency ablation (RFA), and transarterial embolization (TAE). Here, we develop an innovative TAE and immunothermal therapy strategy based on smartly assembled near‐micron layered double hydroxide ...

Noisy Single Image Super-Resolution Based on Local Fractal Feature Analysis

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Generally, most existing super-resolution (SR) methods do not consider noise, which treats SR reconstruction and denoising as two separate problems and performs separately. However, noise is inevitably introduced in the imaging process. Based on analysis
