Multivariate Fractal Functions in Some Complete Function Spaces and Fractional Integral of Continuous Fractal Functions

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2021
There has been a considerable evolution of the theory of fractal interpolation function (FIF) over the last three decades. Recently, we introduced a multivariate analogue of a special class of FIFs, which is referred to as α-fractal functions, from the ...

Multiscale methods for problems with complex geometry

open access: yes, 2016
We propose a multiscale method for elliptic problems on complex domains, e.g. domains with cracks or complicated boundary. For local singularities this paper also offers a discrete alternative to enrichment techniques such as XFEM. We construct corrected

Strategic Design of Soft Actuators in Translational Medical Robotics for Human‐Centered Healthcare

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Soft robotics enables biocompatible, compliant medical devices, but clinical translation requires design‐driven engineering beyond materials. This perspective reviews implantable, surgical, and wearable systems by actuation mechanism, highlighting how optimized architectures and integration improve mechanical interfacing, adaptability, and durability ...

On Non-Tensor Product Bivariate Fractal Interpolation Surfaces on Rectangular Grids

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
Some years ago, several authors tried to construct fractal surfaces which pass through a given set of data points. They used bivariable functions on rectangular grids, but the resulting surfaces failed to be continuous.

Fast Basins and Branched Fractal Manifolds of Attractors of Iterated Function Systems

open access: yes, 2015
The fast basin of an attractor of an iterated function system (IFS) is the set of points in the domain of the IFS whose orbits under the associated semigroup intersect the attractor.

Temporal and Cell‐Specific Regulation of Synaptic Homeostasis by the Chromatin Remodeler Chd1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chd1, the Drosophila homologue of mammalian CHD2 ‐ a gene linked to autism, epilepsy, and intellectual disability, is required for synaptic homeostatic plasticity. Chd1 in glia is necessary for the rapid induction of synaptic homeostasis, whereas Chd1 in motoneurons, muscle, and glia is critical for long‐term maintenance.

Non-Stationary Fractal Functions on the Sierpiński Gasket

open access: yesMathematics
Following the work on non-stationary fractal interpolation (Mathematics 7, 666 (2019)), we study non-stationary or statistically self-similar fractal interpolation on the Sierpiński gasket (SG).

Fractal Image Interpolation: A Tutorial and New Result

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2019
This paper reviews the implementation of fractal based image interpolation, the associated visual artifacts of the interpolated images, and various techniques, including novel contributions, that alleviate these awkward visual artifacts to achieve ...

scResponse: A Rank‐Based Method for Identifying Cell States That Contribute to Immunotherapy Response by Single‐Cell Data

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Although the tumor microenvironment is known to shape immunotherapy response, its key determinants remain elusive, underscoring the critical need for single‐cell resolution analytical frameworks. We present scResponse, an efficient algorithm to quantify single‐cell responses to immunotherapy. By capturing diverse cellular subtypes and states associated

Three Lectures: Nemd, Spam, and Shockwaves

open access: yes, 2010
We discuss three related subjects well suited to graduate research. The first, Nonequilibrium molecular dynamics or "NEMD", makes possible the simulation of atomistic systems driven by external fields, subject to dynamic constraints, and thermostated so ...
